Aww man it appears I missed my chance to get the Fanta Sports 800. I have a code for the Trolli P50 but I’m not sure how I can go about completing Horizon Promo now…

Sounds like you’re going to have to photograph someone else’s car. What’s your player tag? I’m @PopuluxeCowboy on the XBox. Add me as a friend and we can try to work something out. Or see if someone on eBay has a code they’re selling.

I was at the dealership, checking out the offerings, when a Barbie limo flew from across the street and landed on the dealership, then slid off. Of course I had to take a picture. When I exited photo mode, a Unimog hurled itself at the building as well. People just can’t stop throwing their cars at the building.

Sounds great to me! I’m @DextroZach on Xbox. I’m not sure if you could just display it in one of your garage spaces and permit visits to that garage. I don’t know whether or not you can enter photo mode in someone else’s garage or not.

Is this something that works?? I was considering buying a code but I wasn't sure if the codes still worked.
 
If you're just interested in taking photos of certain cars for Horizon Promo, there's no need to make this overly complicated. Just start a custom race, where you can (under "Car Theme" -> "Custom") exactly pick the cars your opponents will drive. For example, if you still need pics of the Toyota Fanta Edition and the Peel Trolli Edition, just pick these two cars, start the race and take your pics. If you don't own one of these cars yourself, you have to pick a third car, which is one you own and will drive yourself.

I assume so. That’s how I got my Oreos Zonda in FH5.

Also, we're into the very last days of the Italian Exotics series and not once did one of the wheelspin exclusives turn up at the dealership.

I got them from the auction house anyhow, as it would've been silly wasting time restarting the game over & over when I had a better chance of getting them from there.

If they do show up, watch it be on the last day. That would be so typical.

I never understood the auction house taking a cut... like, where does that money go in a game where money is, to a degree, almost infinite?

It’s to drain money out of the overall economy.

If everyone could buy and sell without fees, then the CR earned from playing the rest of the game would cause the total supply of CR to rise exponentially, leading to everyone on the Auction House becoming multimillionaires. This isn’t ideal for people with fewer hours in the game as they’ll always get outbid.

Granted there’s a lot of problems with the game’s economy, vehicle rarity and systems, and the Auction House is fundamentally flawed (and damaged due to bots) but that’s the reasoning for it anyways.

Also Microsoft sell car vouchers with real money for Autoshow cars, so there’s a financial incentive to keep CR counts low (though if said vouchers could let people buy any car in the game they’d probably sell a lot more of them).

I went into EventLab instead and created a custom event based on an existing route using a custom car theme. I just picked the two cars with no problem.

I own both cars though so I don't know whether it works for everybody. But I definitely had more success with EventLab than Custom Races.

Yeah I just tried this method & got nothing as well. Also tried event lab with a code google recommended & that didn’t work either. Arrrr well back to the drawing board

I love how the FE Miata looks like it's a joyfully happy, slightly deranged puppy. Just needs a tongue (although that tow strap kinda gives that effect.)
 
It's interesting seeing how many different ways people play Horizon games, personally I have never even considered what cars are 'meta'. For me the game is purely for cruising, exploring, customising and creating.

I'm not on the Forza subreddit but every now and then I'll get it suggested, and with it being a fairly different demographic to what we have here, I find the different discussions intriguing. I sort of forget that some just want the 'best' cars.

Each to their own though, its a credit to the game that people get their fix in so many different ways.

There are no region locks. The Trolli Peel is a DLC car and you have to own the DLC to buy the car in the autoshow or in the auction house. All cars from other DLCs (like Car Pass oder Italian Passion Car Pack) behave exactly the same way.

Sorry for the confusion. Obviously you can only select cars for custom races that you own yourself (something I never noticed, due to my usually complete car collection), which is a restriction that seems really unnecessary.

Okay so basically you have to use a code to own it? That’s sad. Luckily I have a photo of it already when I randomly saw one
 
Yes, those "partnership DLCs", which are restricted to certain platforms or regions of the world, are a terrible idea. I can understand that they are introduced for advertising purposes, but why not make them available later, after a year or so, for all players, as wheelspin or Festival Playlist reward?

I hear you. The only wheelspin exclusive that turned up in this period was not at the dealership but through a wheelspin...

I got my Diablo GTR but the whole complete no show of these cars for me in the dealership, not even once has completely soured any such ingame special event like this. If they do it again I won't even bother. If some of these exclusives actually showed up even just once or twice I'd be a lot happier.
 
@notsofast .I agree with you.The only exclusive that showed up for me was the 599XX evo.A nice idea but very poorly implemented,im not into resetting the game over and over to prompt a change in the line up.
