What you've posted isn't criticism. What you posted is the equivalent of someone saying, "McDonald's is awful, everything there is rubbish" & everyone finds out you've got a 100+ receipts from there. And when questioned, the only retort is, "Well, I really like their patties".

Anywhere else, your posts would come across as a **** post. It's absolute nonsense. Either you like the game more than you care to admit, or you really like eating rubbish.

I'm sure that a monthly update with Monza, the 499P, and the 296 GT3 has to be coming this year. They managed to bring the M Hybrid V8 and the M4 GT3 in one update, so surely they can repeat it.

And since we still don't have Monza back, bundling it with the Ferraris would be one banging update. It's the most significant track still missing from FM7, surely we have to get it this year, cause like the hell...
And a Lancia Stratos. Admin on their FB page replied to my comment about it... 👀 😋

With all those Lay-Offs the Game will be not getting any Updates/Support at all ???
So FM will be Finished...?
It's not known at this time, but highly unlikely. T10 are the ones who created ForzaTech that Horizon runs on, so Playground Games still has a need for them to exist.

There's a little speculation we might know sometime this coming week if there's still something in the pipeline.

My thinking is that they had a big team to get the game going at launch, but now they're at a more stable system to have less people working?

That, or they're going to do an FH5 where they'll bring out more banger updates after they leave...

I don't know if it's me struggling with the V8 Supercars (it's me, I guess) but the AI in that specific tour is kicking me around. I've dropped it down to 5 instead of my usual 7 and they're still killing me, nearly 3 seconds a lap faster around Bathurst. This ain't fun...
I'm having a heck of a time with this tour as well, I will have to turn the difficultly down to complete.

Interestingly, I also am struggling with Bathurst in the Eastern Touring Car tour with a few AI just seemingly impossible to catch.

It's great racing for sure, but it's also not consistent with the difficultly level I am used to.

Is it just 1 AI giving you fits, or multiple? That's been something I've noticed recently where just 1 opponent drives like it's operating on a different level. If they start near the top, they can be a "chase the rabbit" opponent who can then hang just behind you once you're past, or they'll spend most of the race getting through the field and then start making ground on you.

Last time I had this happen was during one series in a 992 3RS & there was a Viper in the series who would hound me. When we got to the final race at Bathurst, by the final lap, he was making significant time on me through the straights. Similarly, it's not the first time I've noticed the AI has been navigating Bathurst faster.

It's making me wonder if they've tweaked the AI so much, there's beginning to be small repeats of FM7 where the AI is just incredibly fast on certain tracks (like Sebring of old).

One oddity I have discovered in the Ginetta and MX5 Cup events (and presumably the other events in the series) is that the rules state that the cars must race at their original PI, but that does not necessarily mean they have to be stock.

For example, the Ginetta Juniors can have an upgrade to Street tyres with a bit of ballast, or adding more power with a bit more ballast, same with the Mazda.

Just something to bear in mind if you're struggling.

In my testing today, I noticed the leading AI was faster on lap 3 than lap 1. This is definitely changed behaviour: They originally adjusted the AI to avoid rabbits running away from the pack but gave us the drawback of lap 1 being their fastest lap... but it seems to have been revised again recently.

Just 1 car which I can't catch but a few others very close behind. During the Bathurst race for both the V8 Supercar and the Eastern Touring Car series a car takes off well ahead of any other AI. I can gain on the leader by the end of a lap but ultimately never pass because they take off again on each lap.

I completed the entire American Touring series and the first 2 of Eastern Touring using the same car throughout and no other tracks had a rogue AI I couldn't catch. Was always close but not unbeatable. Figured I just sucked at Bathurst 😂

First thing I've been doing is downloading the grippiest tune I can find under or equal to the original PI. Even .1 or .2 more lateral grip makes a difference.

Alternatively, I was expecting the Trans-Am tour to be hell on earth given the nature of the cars, but it's been anything but... the AI is not agressive and the cars are not as tricky to drive as I thought they would be. I'm using the Corvette and it honestly just feels like a C7-R with a 300 shot of nitrous down the straights.

It's usually just the 1 that will keep up with me like he's stuck on my back bumper, and by the third lap we're usually 7-10 seconds clear from 3rd place, but nearer the end of the race they kind of die down and back off. I did notice that the closer they run to you in the beginning, the more they're bound to eventually make a mistake and ruin their race, like that race I had at Hockenheim where the AI in 2nd position braked so late at T2 that I presumed he thought he was still on the old circuit.

I used the Dodge and while it was a little tricky to drive, the worst problem I had was having to look through the scaffolding.

I've said it before on how much it annoys me that I win a race but have a fastest lap 1.5 seconds or more slower than 75% of the field and I think they have tweaked the AI into being much faster as a group over a lap or two but you're not going to have a 10+ second win on a 5 lap race at level 5 or 6 like you used to get.

I think for the first time since release, the AI is in a good spot. It's still not perfect but it's closer to perfect than it was the last year and a half. Such good close racing now with each tweak and update and far less mistakes. One thing I do dislike is the perfect side by side driving they do sometimes from the start of a race, it's way too clean until after the first lap and there is still a few bouts of the lead AI or two running away being almost impossible to catch. But besides those things I have no complaints. Even had my rear end handed to me a few times in particular races on level 6 difficulty.

Well, that sucks. Also tells you Black Ops 7 is going to have another bad story/single player b/c Treyarch handles Multiplayer & that's where all the money's at.

And what is this successor supposed to be called? Forza Motorsport 2? They already said they were reimaging the series and this was going to be the platform that they build on for the future. Hence it being Forza Motorsport (2023) and not Forza Motorsport 8.

Reiza Studios has 20+ people that work on AMS2 and it's a lot more in depth of a sim than FM with numerous simulated features such as live track, full course yellows and a complete damage simulation including random failures. They also release a good amount of content.
People really need to just settle down and just wait. They very well may have determined what they need to continue the support of adding content and features and just cut the brunt of the initial development project.

Ferrari 499P
its one of most voted cars in the game
if development is still continuing, it will come to the game eventually, alongside the other misssing LMDh Hypercars

i just wish they focus more on non-GT3 or hypercars tho, but assume staff was cut, i am sure that will focus even more on highly requested cars

Seems like T10 had already been hit with layoffs of 30+ people. No idea if this is all of it
the rumors said around half so i assume that 30-40 is probally the number of staff that was already layoff
it keeps around 60 people that i assume 30 take care of engine and 30 take care of the game updates alongside PG and third party partners
With all those Lay-Offs the Game will be not getting any Updates/Support at all ???
So FM will be Finished...?
rumors say support will continue, probally now with bigger help from PG more than it used to be

I wouldn't be surprised if Fujimi Kaido was only made possible due to PG troops taking over. After all, PG needs the new game engine for FH6, and probably had to fix a bunch of stuff to get it there.

P.S. As was mentioned a few days ago, the FM2023 AI is in the best place it's ever been in since launch. I just spent an awesome afternoon racing the AI in various (new) career events, and was loving it. You could argue that FM2023's core game is pretty much solid now, and the single player career got significantly broadened as we all wanted making the game a good purchase for sim racing fans right now.

Adding more car models (needed for FH6 anyway), tracks and events is what they need for now. If they do indeed share a lot of that with PG staff it might well make sense.

People are saying that turn 10 was actually downgraded to a support studio and forza motorsport will enter end of life content before being sunsetted or something like that, can anyone confirm if that's true? I'm still in denial about all this...
We don't know.

People are still scouring LinkedIn and have speculated the cuts were perhaps across the board; some people listed under Environmental Artists, Vehicle Artists, Audio, Producers got laid off and some didn't.

also fujimi ALLEGEDLY uses assets of FH6, so it even makes even more sense
also Forza team went to a Japan trip that many assumed that it wouldnt be just for Fujimi, it would be for something else....

too much hear say and panic all around, too much fallout to take a clear conclusion

From some rumors, around 60% is still there, and some works may had steamlined into PG to work with was left of T10, maybe even before as pointed out with fujimi kaido
we also had a bugfix update as it was planned since last week, so it means some people are still working on the game to some degree

i am still on cautiosly optitmitic until a official update, i am sure we will get something in a way or another
in anyways, i will getting my post ready for the case it announces more updates or in case if it tis is the end

It should be considered that this is merely a rumor, but the reality may be harsher than you expected.

A few months ago, a testimony from a staff member who was said to have been involved in FM2023 was published on a news site.
It said that in FM2023, Microsoft's policy was to introduce a development style in which contract employees were disposable, and the know-how and knowledge they learned during their contract period was not passed on at all to the next contract employee, who took over from them.

Unfortunately, this rumor makes their actions against T10 and other studios more believable.

Other major publishers have experienced cases where layoffs to cut costs further reduced the quality of the game and further worsened business performance.
And such low-quality AAA games are not loved by users even after repeated updates, and it is not uncommon for them to ultimately kill famous series, so why don't EA, UBI, and Microsoft (and other stupids) learn from this?

The way these layoffs have happened in the past, are that only certain senior leadership are aware of the plans, the rumours get leaked with a particular date planned, but direct team managers and group managers operate as "business as usual", so it's unlikely any happenings in the Forza-sphere with regards to hotfixes, comm's ect were planned with layoffs in mind.
We can blame Phil all we want, but it's Satya who's forcing the headcount reductions, and each business group has to come up with the numbers to layoff.
It's a pretty terrible way to run a business, I went through 2 rounds (in the Office org) before I left on my own, but it's incredibly stressful living in a state of uncertainty around your employment, especially when these layoffs come up every 3-6months, with no end in sight, makes me glad I didn't get a transfer when I moved back home.
