Hi everyone.. i'm doing a science fair project on this and i just want you guys to give you opinion on this.. just vote ok?
please.. cuz i'm startin ta run outta time... so if you guys would vote on this i'd appreciate it.. thanks..

What do you mean? Are you wanting us to vote on which we prefer? What the current distribution is in the street car arena? Or the reasons why manufacturers would want to install each type of driveline?

We need more information on the question...

I don't know what exactly you are asking .

Is it the drive train for family cars? Or cars in general?

I voted FF because you stated "family" in your question.

I feel FF cars suit the "family" stereotype because it offers more space. Don't need for a drive shaft connecting to the rear, so no transmission tunnel.

well, FF, i guess.
since it's a family-oriented thing, you'd want the safest drivetrain you can get. FF places all the engine weight on the drive wheels, which provides them with much more traction. they're also the wheels that determine which direction the car is headed, so there's less of a chance of spinout or understeer than would be with FR.

Well, given that most cars are FF, it's likely that the 'best' car in most price ranges is FF, so that's what I voted. Also, since you specify 'family' car, one is to assume that driver appeal is not the most important factor, therefore FF again.

However, the safest drivetrain is 4WD.

ack.. i'm so unclear on my posts...

I assumed you meant which do I prefer, so I picked FR. Then you posted this?!

well..whether it's being prefered by just me or a family,I'd have to say FR..and the reason I'm posting my vote on here is cause the daMNED THING WON'T LET ME VOTE!!!AHHHH!!

AE86Driver

my vote = FR ^_^

i can't vote either.
come to think of it, i've never been able to vote on this board...why is that?

umm, i picked FR cuz i thought the question was askin wut i preferred.... well, switch one vote to FF if u want ^_^

P.S. I'm usin my computer without a mouse....soo frustrating...can't use winamp.....dangit....stupid brother had to take it cuz his mouse broke....:Poke:

well a FF car is safer given that the cars have the same standard equipment... but in some countries (if not most), the more expensive cars on the market are generally large engined (eg, the big mercs) and rear wheel drived.... they are also packed with safety features.
here in australia there are 3 major "family" cars (here in Oz we build our family cars big), the holden commodore, ford falcon, and mitsubishi magna, and untill now the most popular options have been the falcon and commodore wich are FR 6cyl. the magna is a FF 6cyl. some have argued however the FF magna has better handling, tho less power....

I guess i depends what you want i guess... I cant vote on this :/

how come you guys keep saying " what car you want" when the poll specificly sez
and i quote "FR or FF powertrain for real life streetcars*family*?"

it means what do you think should be suitable for a family car......

well i mean its open for opinion.. but if you voted FR, i just wanna know why

lol

FF cars are easier to drive, cheaper(less parts), have more space inside and they are lighter(less parts). So they are suited to family cars.

well considering the kids are screaming in the back

to stop dad getting frustrated

you need to let him have some fun right? Therefore FR is the obvious answer keeping him occupied through driving....?
