Frame rate in COD: UO is way too low for my system...

My system:

- AMD Athlon TK-53 dual-core processor 1,6 Ghz
- 896 Mb RAM
- ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 series, 128 mb RAM dedicated

I'm still into the oldschool, and still best, COD. However, I cannot seem to understand why my frame rate is so low. Recommend system requirements are lower than a Gb RAM, 64 mb of graphic memory and a pentium 3 800 Ghz processor. Setting the COD to one core and setting the priority to high doesn't have any effect, and the weirdest part is the difference between the lowest and highest graphic settings.

Playing on the lowest setting for every graphic and detail setting gives me a frame rate of down to 12 FPS when the map gets heavy. If I change everything to the highest setting, it gets down to 8 FPS. This difference seems so minor to me, but I can't understand why my laptop seems to handle this game so bad...

Any experiences here on GTP?

In Task Manager, is anything else hogging the processor or memory?

Not much, except for explorer.exe that uses pretty much of my memory, around 20 megs...

COD varies much when using my memory, sometimes it uses 30%, sometimes it ues 50%. Still kind of wondering why it lags so much when it's only using 30% of my memory...

I went to a COD forum, and tried ways to make COd use more of my ram, but nothing helped, and people with the same specs as me claim FPS as high as 200 FPS :odd:

It's not that it's unplayable, no no noooo, I just wish it would lag less, because it's especially irritating in the single player mode, the best thing about COD: UO...

*EDIT*

I've just played the single player in COD, not the UO expansion pack. What I noticed straiht away is the hge amount of lag that I have, yet, did not experience the lag when I played the game in Vista... (Yes, I downgraded to XP because my system was too unstable...)

This makes me go :odd:
