they may been working on this for years for all we know. I would love it because I could actually drive my cars an just look at the scenery peacefully....
 
This woud be an awesome addition to the game. Seriously would make play gt5 more and its especially good if u win cash and exp for doing stuff. Hope this is fo real!!
 
Sounds like a need for speed game to me

a litte ot here but i found one of the comments at the bottom of the page quite funny....

When getting an oil change, the hood should open so that the new oil can be put in. Also, the mechanic should use a drain pan...as it is, it appears that he drinks the oil, filters it with his liver, and then spits it back into the engine through the drain plug hole...an impressive feat, but very unhealthy...and he forgot to change the filter!

I've got a flight sim on my pc that's called FlightGear and it has free roaming that utilizes a live online download of world scenery so that as I fly the scenery is constantly updating and refreshing in real time. I can also see who's flying what aircraft anywhere in the world, live. Something like this could work for GT5 but would take an extraodanary amount of effort to create and implement. Maybe link it to Google maps or somthing similar. There are ways to do it with current tech, but how reliable would it be? You'd also have to have a fast net connection in order to keep ahead of the game with the data, imagine flying down a highway at 200 mph and coming to a dead stop because the next mile hasn't loaded into memory yet, as the guy you're racing against zooms past because he has a faster internet connection.
 
This would make it a completely different game and as PD runs it would take another few years to create and if it does happen (which I can't see) I would expect that we would have to pay extra money for it.

You control Bob as he puts his hooker into the 43 positions you can achieve in a 1 hour session. Then of course after it's all over, you end up letting her walk up the street a bit before running her over with your Escudo, taking the money from her and getting 2 stars. :D
 
I still think it would be a very interesting idea. I'm 15 and I think it would be quite good to try out driving in a simulated city obeying laws (With a wheel) before they throw me out on the real thing
 
what if i crashed through and hit someone elses car what would happen.
 
Tbh the first time I saw Grand Tour in the specials I thought it was a free roam mode driving between each event, needless to say I was disappointed.
 
That was a waste of time, the insane amount of loading time whilst you waited for your red dot to move from switzerland to itally :S
 
I do think though that that would be a great thing to do, drive down the roads between the events ... Bit late now as I've golded Grand Tour like but hey, would still be cool as we could skip the events and just drive.

Yea that would be awesome but where would we be free roaming because it wouldn't be very realistic if we were drifting around in a populated area without cops.

Anybody played TDU2? Im sure your going to love driving around in your 20,000,000 car only for a load of kids to keep crashing into you that and running you of the road ever 5 mins, really it get annoying after a while.
 
TDU 2 is hardly a racing game I swear, seems to be more about lifestyle than actual racing
 
That would honestly be one of the greatest features ever in a gt game. If they did it similar to mcla with the ability to turn off traffic and just cruise the city I would play non stop until gt6. I was hooked on mcla for a long time because of that cruising, even with it's lesser graphics and physics. Wish it were more likely :(

I read in a thread somewhere that pd were planning to release a free roam feature. If they could create vast cityscapes for us to explore/drift around I think the game would be almost complete. After all it is supposed to be the real driving simulator and what's more real than that?
