If you're using vBulletin, nothing beats vBshout

...but in the probable case that you're not:

I was searching for one myself, today, and in the end i just registered one at http://chat.anarchyzero.com/, and stuck it in an i frame on my site. It's rather crude, but if you want something quick, it's not a bad choice.
