Who began the Panama Canal? France.
Who finished it? United States.
Who was defeated within moments of World War I starting? France.
Who bailed them out? United States.
Who was defeated within moments of World War II starting? France.
Who bailed them out? United States.
Who began Vietnam? France.
Who tried to finish Vietnam? United States
The official bird of France is the Rooster. Not only is this a completely retarded bird to represent your country with, but it also proves the long held theory that all Frenchmen love cocks.

My interpretation goes a bit more like this

Who was defeated within moments of World War I starting? Not France, they held on despite massive casualties
Who bailed them out? Great Britain & its Empire, the war was nearly over before the USA entered.
Who was defeated within moments of World War II starting? France. If nine months is moments then yes. But they did collapse ridiculously easily
Who bailed them out? The USSR played the biggest role in the war against Germany
Who began Vietnam? France.
Who finished Vietnam? North Vietnam

Just because the French have been blinked and pointlessly obstructive over Iraq, lets not re-write history. The French have had a very successful military history, having dominated much of Europe under Napolean along with plenty of other sucesses.

The USSR had nothing to do with liberating France.

I hate nationalism. Especially when people try and bash another country.

If you get great joy from this, punch your self in the face. Its not very different from racism. Its basically labeling a group of people together as a bunch of idiots.

Perhaps one day, Frances decision regarding war against Iraq will be seen as brave and intelligent.

Don't argue with me. Just think about it.

As much as I hate to bring this up,.. let's not forget about that short little stinky guy, what's his name,... ummm, lemme think,... he conqured a large portion of the European region,... oh yeah,... Napolean;) I'm pretty sure he had a victroy or two:banghead:

I'm somehow related to him. :odd:

Well he had a sister whose last name was Briese or something like that, and my dad had a Great Aunt whose last name was Bresse, something like that. One can only assume that it was passed down the line and changed subtly.. But my dad was pissed when he told me that it might not be ture :p.

I understand your point dude,... but a lot of us like to speak for the silent majority,.. and actually, if you seriously think we're racist, then man, lighten up; we're in a time of war, your either with us, or against us.

Statements like this are exactly what 12 sec. was talking about. It's hard to see individuals at a time like this. Think of the Iraqi soldier, with a wife and a kid and house somewhere in the suburbs. All he wants is to kiss his wife and hold his baby, soon. That is no different from the American soldier.

Last night I saw an American soldier on TV saying his new wife is due with their first baby in a matter of days. I got tears in my eyes because I can barely grasp the pain he must be in. And yet there he is in the desert, liberating Iraq, and protecting the free world. How anyone can make smug, off-handed remarks about him or the Iraqi soldier in the same shoes is beyond me. I'm surprised how disrespectful so many people are.

People are the same wherever you go. They want to be happy and live comfortably. Then there are a handful of psychopaths who think they know what's best for everybody. They enforce it by gassing them, assasinating them, and controling them with terror. If this psychopath happens to have dillusions of grandeur, 25% of the world's main fuel source, and the will and capability to create, posses, and use the world's most dreaded weapons, he has simply got to be eliminated. Only then will the soldiers get what they deserve: to go home and live well.

France won't support the effort. Fine. There are consequences and they'll wish they had done the right thing instead of the ideological thing. Germany won't fight but is allowing the US to stage attacks from bases in Germany. And there are something like 20 other countries who support the war anomously. The "anti war" sentiment spouted by a minority of world-weary ideologues is apparently not shared by the people who really know what is needed for the world right now. But they want to get reelected.

French jokes are funny and they were all made up long before this crisis. Let's keep in in perspective.

12 Sec... I hear ya. I also laugh at the jokes. They're just so darn funny. But now it's time to buck up and finish this thing.

Sorry for the tangent but it just sorta came out...

"French Revolution - Won, primarily because the opponent was also French."

Whoa, ouch, burn! But it's funny because it's true!

P.S. I bet the person that wrote this didn't take European History too recently.....
