I try to run 50-60 hours a week. Can't manage 24/7 as the ps3 is also our movie machine so i usually grind during the day. I need to get one of those hd media players, that would free up the ps3. :)

Also, since psn came back, every 3-4 hours either the widget will get stuck at "starting race" or the ps3 gets disconnected "no events found" (but still logged into psn) and have to restart everything. So basically i have to baby sit the grinding. If i leave it alone when i'm out or over night, several hours are wasted with everything being on but no races running so i stopped doing that. Not sure if its my internet, grinder 2.5.2 or gt5 1.10..

Can someone please define this clubs 'frequent grinding' expectations?

I would define frequent as daily. Not in the rules yet though, so the definition of frequent probably differs among us.
I don't think it's something to make a big deal about, the club members will notice if drivers are not being used etc..

If the drivers are used all the time (or most of the time), I don't see an issue.

Okay, as you said it would be nice to get the members oppinion this matter.

I am personally fine with you being inactive for a week, won't remove you from the 'always use' list before you no longer are a member of this club, is that should happen :)

May we hear the voice of the rest of the club?

Sorry guys, haven't checked the board in a couple days, this thread moves quickly.

I have no problem with folks taking "time off" for however long, the only stipulation I think is that you post it here, or on your in-game message board. That way we at least know that you're "supposed" to be away, rather than us just wondering if you gave up.

MortenMT:
Man I'm terribly sorry to hear about what happened. Haven't been there with a wife, but a couple girlfriends in the past. It sucks, and probably even harder with a wife. Just keep your head straight and remember your family loves you and in time you will find happiness again. Every lifetime has its dark times, and they're always followed by good times eventually.

Ok just re-read rule # 3. 👍 Thanks

I wanna say thanks to the club member who sent me a helmet gift a couple days back. Unfortunately i pressed the "receive all" before seeing who sent it. And the log just logged "gift received from a friend".. Thank you!

Everyone, you decide your opinion on my position here. I try to race most people, but especially you ch1potle always have just one driver available. I checked my logs after the few races I could have before my PS3 froze and it all went haywire, and you weren't in almost any of them. I can off the top of my head say that I've raced WakeStriker, WhiteRuin, Darth_Fromage, MattZR1, and a few at least two times. (I think).
But about only running la Sarthe, I can't change that. If I ever have the widget up and running, I cannot find the debug window on a Mac. I've asked in yonis' thread, but got no Mac-specific answer. If anyone could tell me here, please inform.

Fishyjuice. Do this, I use a mac too:
hold control-shift and click the two "gears" up in the top right corner of the screen, to the left of the clock. Here's the important thing, "Debug mode" doesn't always show up the first time, I have no idea why. If its not at the bottom of the menu, try it again. You don't need to "right" (two-finger) click, just a regular click while you hold ctrl-shift. Give it a try and let me know if debug still doesn't show up at the bottom.

That's how i see it too..but its nice to hear everyone's opinion. Grinding, just like this club should remain fun rather than turn into a chore for some people who may not be able to do 24/7 or far less than others. Imho, this club is all good. 👍 Cheers!

Just curious, how many of us are running 24/7?

Can't do it, wife flat won't let me. BUT, I do try to run about 5-6 hours on weekdays and I usually run all day on the weekends (unless I'm playing early in the morning). We've had a bunch of sharp lightning storms the past couple days, so the ps3 has been unplugged a while. I'm gonna let it grind overnight tonight to try to make up a bit.

I may go a couple days at a time without racing, whether due to work or my 12-week old baby, I'll still try to get some solid grinding hours at least 3-4 days a week. Weekends are great for me to grind, so don't hate me until you see me miss a weekend unannounced. :)

Seeing how the "view" is on "frequent", I think this group better throw me out considering that I only "grind" up to 4-6 hours a day, it was very much less than that the previous days for me. I can't leave it on during the night, it disconnects every time. I think there are people much more suited to take part in this than me.

Even 4-6 hrs a day is frequent enough. I'd say that many hours 4-5 days/week should be enough. Anybody else?

hi everyone..thanks for running races for my bob...I will be running less remote races for the rest of this month (3 whole days instead of 5...) and I will be away for a week too.

Although I don't share the opinion that it is EVERY day, I do feel that its at least 4 days a week of a solid block of grinding. It really depends on consistency I suppose. Maybe I say that because I can't do it EVERY day, but I still try to as often as possible.

Not to mention I've had the recent hangs on the grinder where I leave it running and it stops in the middle of the night. It does take a little babysitting recently.

Since I'm disabled I find myself watching the races alot and would like to know everyone's thoughts on the la Sarthe race. It has the highest payout but if your bob is up against 15 level 0 bobs and you get the Panoz you're probably not gonna win. Ever. I bring this up cuz my boy is in the Panoz now so I already know the end of this movie lol.

In the Le Mans race, You can win in the Speed 8, R92, R8 '01, V12LMR, Minolta 88C-V, Sauber C9, and some more I've forgot.
Those you can't win in are (unless something really strange happens) are: Courage C60 - Peugeot Race Car '03, R10, Panoz, R390, Chaparral 2J, and some more.

And at least today, I got some "grinding" done, but I won't be able to do this every day. I'm still probably going to grind less than most others.

I consider that frequent! I won't throw you out..

Yea I observed a race yesterday and the Panoz really gets screwed over on Le Sarthe. I don't understand why, it has like 770+hp, I just don't get it.

It is really a double edged sword with this track. The best payouts are here, but if you pull the Panoz or Chaparral, you pretty much are guaranteed last place.

That's leaving it on 3 days a week when you go to work/school

The Chaparral isn't actually that bad.

It isn't bad, but going against what is in the grid most of the time, it usually ends up near the back of the pack.

Of course. I was more thinking in terms of putting it into the same sentence as the Panoz. It's a whole lot better in this respect than the Panoz.

I don't own the Panoz so I can't say for sure, but it could be aerodynamics or gearing since it's only getting 215 mph on the straights.. roughly. The other cars are doing 225-235.

Yes, in this respect, it most definitely is. I have noticed, as Derrict said, the top speed on the straights is what is mainly sealing its fate in this field of race cars.

Seeing this club in action is awesome I hope on the next round I could be fortunate to catch the registration in time. Or as an alternate. If that need be the case.

As for family and what not, RL always takes priority over any game.

Well make credits and grind it out!

Divious just hang around and when some one leaves we might left u join the grind club
