The winter is awful. Even worse because my French class is in the other building, and the open walkway goes uphill. And it gets icy.

Take solace in the fact that --unless you're planning a move to Siberia-- winter can't get much worse than Erie, Pa.

Except this past February. lol. Seriously I went to college in Meadville, every winter for 4 straight years I questioned that decision.

Another day. Still not swimming in swim class :D. Had an overall normal day, heading out to see Inception tonight with friend Kirsten (no she isn't my girlfriend but her boyfriend goes to some other school)

Anyone got anything to say about Inception? :dopey:

If this is an advice giving thread I'd recommend The Expendables over Inception. Trust me she'll dig it, my fiancée did.

Ugh, man! That's wrong! I might be 14 but my hormones are not that on edge. I can keep them calm when I want them to be.

Plus, I would hate to ruin a friend's relationship at such a young age. I don't want to be known as the kid who ****ed the popcorn bag. Not my style.
 
Holy crap. Inception was the best movie I've seen all year. The ending was blown for me (thatnks Yahoo!) Chilled with supergenius friend Wesley.
Great day in my book.

No offense, I can understand, but that's not my #1 priority. I guess I'm just a little old-fashioned. I don't care for a high school relationship.

On topic, I'm going into Gr. 11, (Junior year I guess), and High School's been fun. It's also mind blowing how easy it is. Have fun, do your work, and get your fair share of shenanigans. High school is really pretty insignificant, find something fun to do, and do it.

This year I'm a freshman too but it's not a big deal because my school is so small that grades 1-6 are in one building while 7-12 is in the other. So 7th grade was the big change. It's almost like I've been in high school for 2 years already!

Thanks! My French class is good, I can at least greet you, although it's a love/hate where I sit. I have trouble seeing in the back, and it's cramped, but she can't see me. I have not been called on.

In the main scheme of things, school is cutting into my Gran Turismo playing. I have only played once since Wednesday, and that was to set up an entry car, which took maybe 5 minutes.
And I am going to want to play Gran Turismo 5. Badly.
 
I'll echo what most other people have said: Enjoy high school, but don't underestimate the importance of the qualifications you get at the end of it.

I've not applied for any serious jobs in my life up till now, but despite having further education (A-Levels) and a BA Business degree from a good university, employers still ask to see my GCSE certificates (high-school level education). I think they're still seen as at least a basic level of understanding in essential subjects like mathematics, english and science, since past GCSE-level in the UK you aren't required to gain any further education.

Still daft though. I'm doing a postgraduate degree now (literally days away from handing in my final piece) and I bet I'll still get asked for my GCSE grades somewhere along the line.

But yeah, enjoy it. Life gets a hell of a lot more complicated after you leave school. I long for the days when I had just six or so hours at school, a little bit of homework and maybe a part time job to deal with. Nowadays I have a full time job, a part time job, a degree and a girlfriend to all juggle! Doesn't leave much room for either a social life or "me" time...

1. Get some close friends.
2. Get some not as close friends who you still can chill with
3. Get a lot more people you know around the place.
4. Don't get on people's bad side (this is a life lesson, not just some BS high school thing)
5. Care about your work, but not TOO much.
6. Get some "connections"
7. Feel stressed? "connections" will help.

1. I have close friends. Nothing serious, all my good friends are close.
2. My close friends are the people I hang out with anyway.
3. I know a whole ton of people.
4. I haven't gotten on anyone's bad side. I used to when I lived in Maryland.
5. It's hard for me to not care about my work, when my dad was still alive he pushed me to limits. he did the same to him. But I already do well without working half as hard as others.
6. I hope to god that isn't what I think it is.
7. Okay, if it's drugs, no thanks. I've never done anything, and I don't plan on it.

I don't see it happening. I don't really have a girlfriend. I was talking about this last night to Kirsten. I was feeling depressed and I needed to talk to someone. (More like text)

I did say if I end up like the 40 year old virgin, I'd probably kill myself. Cause once you're 40, it's just, no.

And I have no clue why I felt so awful. My thoughts kept racing, and the song "5oul on D!splay" had been repeating in the back of my head for hours. Eventually, I said something, (I'm not going to say it here. It's not bad, just something I don't feel like letting thousands of people know) and it was good to get things off my chest (They weren't directed towards her, more like someone else)

I feel great now.

Demain c'est le dos a un ecole. Mon d'abord grand une semaine
(Tomorrow is back to school. My first big week)

Wow, I said "hope to good." Fixed it cause it made no sense.

I wouldn't know if that's the connections I have. The people I hang with are not cool, nor are they outcasts. MNore like the group everyone knows but don't pay attention to. Maybe it'll happen, maybe not. Not all dreams come true. :trouble:
 
uh. I feel positively awful. I'm in full on shut down mode. I can't talk to anyone, I don't know what's happening. I feel a sudden urge to tear my hair out. Songs are repeating in the back of my head. I'm going insane. I was positively untalkative today.

Here's some things you need to know about me.

I'm 14 years old, in 9th grade. I'm a very small person, only 5'3 100lbs. I'm one of those people who look nerdy, act nerdy, but everyone knows and acknowledges. I've had a tough life. I already have mental issues as it is, because at age 8 I was a reject and snapped out because my horrid life.

I am a genius. I know this for a fact after I took a test at a very young age and proceded nearly 3-4 grades ahead of my skill.

My father died February 13th, 2010, at the age of 45, due to alcohol poisoning.
I have one brother and one sister.

I'm not an average teen. I don't care for sex, drinking, smoking dope, none of that. Sex would be nice, but let's not get off topic.

As I said, I've started to succumb to a near brink of insanioty. I want to punch walls, scream. And I have a secret that needs to stay secret-between me and a riend-and it's eating me alive.

What's wrong with me?
 
Nothing, you're a teenager. Give it a few days, it'll pass. I consider myself a pretty average teen, but I have never had a drop of alcohol, and gag whenever I smell anything being smoked. It's a good thing really, so don't feel bad about it at all. Trust me, the "cool" kids that think they're all that will be serving you from a drive-through window someday. Try to find something you like to do, and focus on that. Go hang out, skateboard, something.

You're fine.

Same here, I would never touch alcohol, and smoke is just annoying to be around, and harmful.

Well, I like cars, and Gran Turismo has influenced some of that love.
I read many car magazines (I've amassed quite a collection.

I might be short, but I practice some baketball in my driveway. Keeps me fit.

And yeah, those "cool" kids, I'ma be asking them for frosties and Tendercrisps.
Talking to my friend about 8th Grade, possibly the best school year of my life. I laughed so much I should be missing a lung.

Best advice yet. This can be a serious matter as my 19 year old sister has a 3 year old. I wasn't around when my sister may have needed me most (in college) and our Mom commuted over an hour to and from work. Our father is/was?? a huge alcoholic as well, and a month ago we both saw him for the first time in 15 years.

If nothing else, help your sister out with what she may need and you might be so busy helping her you may forget the stuff in your head, or even learn something along the way to help you out.

Hope things get better and believe me when I say college is where it's at; the best time of your life is there. Your Freshman year of college you will find that magically everyone matures and stops bullying, let's say they have been 'weeded out' by survival of the fittest in the new enviornment :lol: Plus the women are HOT.

It's tough. She hates the whole family, and doesn't allow anyone near her. She acts like she's the **** of high school, the highest class person ever. And I hate that. She no longer worries about grades. I know she'll fail. And I feel sorry. SHe has very low self esteem. And I'm afraid she'll do something beyond my rational thinking (I don't have much of that anymore :lol:)

Going to eat burgers.

And I can't eat hot dogs. When my dad died, he was choking on a hot dog. It just disgusts me. But I need to man up one of these days.
