Right then: friend of mine wanted to get into drifting. We live in the Los Angeles area.

I was going to point them at the driftday.com site, but it appears that it hasn't been active for a bit. drift101 also seems similarly inactive.

Anyone aware of local, grassroots drift events?

Thanks in advance. :)

Best thing to do is check out social media. There's usually Facebook groups for clubs in your area.

I think Adam's track in Riverside does weekly, for fun, drift days. Willow springs is another big one everyone goes to, you'll just have to research. IIRC, Irwindale does/did drift days once in a while too, I could be wrong though.

You can check out www.626drift.com as well, but I'm not sure how active they are anymore.

EDIT: http://www.adamsmotorsportspark.com/racing/drifting/ Adams Track is every thursday. its a small nice track

Some pics of the track, I took about 5 years ago.
