My first moments on the ring were awesome!
Back in 2001 i did my first laps in a Ford focus diesel. Even with a slow car you can have so much fun!
This year i bought a peugeot 106 GTI for the ring, so much more fun!

First time in GT4 was pretty easy, gold in first time. Lots of fun though, glad i can "practise" in the winter :-)

Still, though. I think it's the most interesting track in the world, but racing it is something I dislike. I never want to race with anything purely fast. Something that's like a GT Prototype or a Formula race car are simply too fast and too risky for this track. This is even considering that you have to race pretty fast machines on the course in some championships. If you want to be safe, do no better than a JGTC/Super GT GT500 car, or a Le Mans GT race car (not a GTP or LMP).

Now, I just really shrug when this track is up. I don't think I can do 25 laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife like in "1000 Miles!" I'll do Le Mans because I'm used to it, and it isn't as tough (at least, to me). I'm just not really a Nürburgring fanatic, much less the Nordschleife. Racing is about concentration. If you're heavy on concentration, this track will give you more nightmares than the ugly girl that wanted to be your girlfriend. I don't really find fun with a course this long. In some cases, with a lap around this course, I will have done maybe three laps of Grand Valley, two laps of Le Mans, six or seven laps of Seoul, basically, you'd be done with most races in six or nine minutes. My biggest negative for this course is that there are so many ways to mess everything up. It takes too long to memorize and master. I don't look at the course as "oh, a great way to kill time." To me, two evils work against you- memorize the course, then concentrate and race as best as possible. Can you do it? I'd even make the typical American racing fan argument in saying that it can be tough to pass or overtake on the straights or in some corners. So, you'll need some practice. If you're not good, just race it in B-Spec. Won't make you less of a person. Just study the racing line, suit it to your driving style, then come out fighting. You dig?

This track is intimidating, but don't let it get to you. Just remember to keep mistakes to an absolute minimum if you can. I haven't played GT4 in some time, so I'll have to get adjusted when I get a chance to play it again.

The easiest way to memorize this course is to drive on an easier version of it, like PGR2 and Forza's fake, hugemongous interpretations. Racing online helps, as it keeps things interesting, what with the various people you'll meet and race and whatnot.

I memorized the course by spending hours online with PGR2, and now I can hold an ordinary conversation with friends while racing on the 'Ring, only to "wake up" and realize that I don't even remember having done half of the course...
