If I can get myself free for the allotted time, I'll be able to race... Sadly, dinner and my sister's bedtime kisses come into play about 7-8pm, but I'm hoping they make her bedtime later and dinner earlier so I'm on hand...

So I got bored of doing career races again.

Specced up a Focus and Civic and took them for a spin around Silverstone:

Focus: 1:08.129 - Can only see another tenth or two in there. Really not my cup of tea, nice entry rotation into mid corner understeer, then getting on the power just spins the wheels and you understeer even more. And modulating the throttle to stop the wheels spinning just means the exit speed is pretty crap. :yuck: It might just be me of course, but I couldn't get the hang of it. Fastest I've tested on the straight though.

Civic: 1:07.665 - Now we're talking. :D Stable entry with nice rotation (not as oversteery on entry as Focus) good mid corner front-end grip so the power can just be slammed on. Decent in a straight line too and great off the line (6000rpm launch ;)). Could easily be another tenth in there as well.

This is added to my previous results:

BMW: 1:07.416
Range Rover: 1:07.813 (with 2 tenths left in)

Worried about Focus :worried:

I managed a 1:07.1 in some testing so i'm not worried at all.

Okay, I think the Renaults are wetting themselves now.. I don't think we stand a chance! ;)

The Focus should shine at tracks with mostly medium and high speed corners such as Spa and maybe Ascari.

That's where i'm hoping to get a good haul of points.

Ascari is another track where the Hyundai is decent, along with Willow Springs, Brands Hatch GP and Silverstone National.

Spa and Nurb/D will be damage limitation.

I think to be fair, Ascari will be my biggest problem; along with Spa (don't get on with some of the corners there)...
However, will have to just hope for the best and sneak through when everyone's scrapping!

The Renault is not that good and I'm not used to Silverstone in the slightest... So 1:08.3 is probably pretty ok for my Megane, but I'm not liking the 1:07's I'm seeing...

I just scraped into 1:06's once, but 1:07's seem to be everyone's limit. The more laps you put in, the more used to it you get.

I'm gonna go and get some practice for an hour. Peugeot seems fast here, might be able to qualify 👍

More TOCA News! Renault Had Illegal Components Last Week, The Cars Wet Themselves This Week!

News just in, down in the Pits where the Renaults are being worked on; the HSR Meganes have shown to have severe oil, fuel and coolant leaks before the races tonight... Is it because the cars are nervous? And will the mechanics get the cars ready in time? Stay tuned to find out!

Jason said "Well, it appears that all the pipelines for the Meganes have perished over the last week so we shall be trying to get some new ones fitted; and then getting on contact with RenaultSport over the next week - to get them replaced with more reliable ones!"

1:09.1 here. I think I might just skip this and watch Daytona instead. :indiff:
I really really want to watch the Rolex 24... but this is one of my best tracks. I'm torn right now.

The Team Peugeot America will not be in the field tonight nor next week at Ascari. See you Sunday with hopefully a Mustang for something else. ;)

@FlyingFox Sorry to hear that you have pulled out of everything, really sucks. Going to miss you, Ed. Hope you come back soon.

Mentally preparing myself. By talking to a friend on Twitter
