In other news: BMW really needs slowing down. I mean really. If anyone can win whilst typing in the chat and still finish 15 seconds ahead is just stupid. Sure well done to kartman for keeping it on track but surely if it was slower it would be easier to keep hold of.

Put one of the fastest drivers (if not the fastest driver) in the series in the best handling car in the series on a twisty track and that was always going to be the case.

The BMW's disadvantage is it's much harder to be consistent in. Spinning it out is very easy to do.

Plus it's a boat anchor in a straight line.

Snow and Yera are pretty much quickest guys out there. Joe can work wonders in the Ford that I've sucked badly in.

Point 2: Honda didn;t win a race tonight.

Very close racing tonight. Enjoyed my first ever series type race on here. I did get a nudge on the 2nd race from carboy which put me from the 1st place battle down to 7th :( but very good racing otherwise.

Which kills us all on starts

Yes

and in corners

No

Edit: It really depends. If you spend longer accelerating then yes. Eg the last sector at Ascari is brilliant. But the loss on the straight out ways that. It's only a small amount but it means that I can't pass unless the persons tyres have gone off or if they have gone off. I only kept my positions due to people dropping behind and battling.

+how Joe managed a 2:09.9 is beyond me. I couldn't make the 10's. 11.4 was my best all night. 12's were more appropriate.

If joes doing testing to pp then the car he's testing will have more power as we have to run reduced power online. Not gonna enjoy spa may even struggle to qualify there.

Need to put some laps in at Spa this week, only did a handful of laps before race 1 so all of that was learning.

I also had probably the best 1st lap in TOCA history going from 16th to 7th even being as high as 6th before @DK overtook me.

Still faster without draft than a Range Rover with it.

In testing at Silverstone the BMW and Range Rover didn't even touch 140mph by the end of the Hangar straight. The Rangey was around 137mph, the BMW around 139mph, Peugeot was at 145mph, Civic around 141mph and the Focus around 143mph.

So the tests were done with the pp rating not the power rating from the op which even then we still have to reduce for online
What are you going on about? The specs are clear. You set power so that PPs are at the specified figure (whatever maximum power that yields). There's no difference between offline and online for that.

I guess I've got to be satisfied with Ascari overall. After qualifying second behind a blindingly quick BMW and also getting away 2nd from the start, a massive lag spike basically cost me the race. Just before the second hairpin, gokartman's car started jumping around, then it seemed over and I see his car accelerating out of the corner and then spinning off to the right and for a split-second I'm thinking that the road ahead of me is clear and the race is mine … until it feels like some god grabbed my car and smashed it into the barrier at about 200mph. For a couple of seconds the car was bouncing around like a pinball, until I was able to continue way down the order with practically the whole damage indicator being red. I still managed to finish 3rd, mainly because some people went off, but gokartman and Joe were somewhere off in the distance.

Early in race 2 I wasn't as aggressive as I maybe would have needed to be, so I kind of lost the train moving forward, but again managed a 3rd. For race 3 I already knew that it would be probably gokartman's race as he was starting from the front row, so, if he kept it together it was his race to lose. And he did (keep it together). Did right what I had done wrong in race 2 though and finished 2nd. So, three podiums are nothing to scoff at.

In other news, I will not be able to race at Spa.

GKM caused the lag in Race 1 start but that was the only lag. Race 1 ws unfortunate though I was in 3rd but lost 10 places thanks to the lag which gave me engine damage.

Well this describes my Race 2 very well; me in the Renault - everybody else in the other cars... Means this occured; apart from I didn't get shoved into the wall;)

I watched that exact video yesterday

I must say thanks @Furinkazen for getting all the races done before 9:30. I was just 2 minutes away from missing the VLN which I was looking forward to as it was staged at night.

That is how it's supposed to be. Brands, new format + first race of season meant it ran over, and we all knew about how Silverstone was screwed by PD.

Actually if you build the range rover to the same pp in the original post you'll find that it should have 6-7 more Bhp

The only thing that worries me is the uphill chicane (Turn 2).. I often drift very wide there! :P
