I think it's much easier to have the straightline pace than to have cornering pace, because by driving your line you can easily block any RWD and hold off any advantage they may have.
Very true. This is part of the reason why we're in a Volvo this season. Last season Andil had a faster car down the straights so passing him would be extremely difficult even if you are faster. This also meant in reverse grid races it's easier to pick your way through the order.

It's also why the ToyoLada was useless unless you were at the front (see Brands GP R3). The only place where it had pace was the corners, but every lap you were met with a Mazda or Renault in front with 20mph less apex speed.

Spa R2 was hell. I was much faster than Andil but he was 5 seconds ahead of me during the race. He was held up so I caught up but despite a massive pace advantage I couldn't pass him because he had such good drive off the corners. I was lucky to win that after somehow getting him round the outside of the Bus Stop on the last lap.

Volvo isn't OP. Slow drivers can't make car work > blame everyone else.
I actually haven't driven it yet, but I will give it a whirl at some point to see. Guarantee I could knock at least 1 second off any Alfa laptime at any track.

It's not that easy to make it fast. I've knocked 1 second off at Brands since I drove the car for the very first time. I was struggling to get a good setup for it but Furi had 1 which I liked but then we got another new one which made it even faster. Not to mention we're all sharing setups so we have 3 drivers giving feedback.

Andil was running his old setup and did a 17.3 in his car (we actually shared setups about 5 weeks ago) and I gave him my new one and he knocked 0.5 off instantly.

Don't want to moan about the Alfa, considering it was a decent start to the campaign. I just want to give it no rear grip.

Take it around Bathurst :scared:

I did for my photoshoot, I actually quite liked it. On fresh tyres, the first lap or so is actually really nice - the front end bites instantly, you can pull it into a corner and rotate it quickly.

There's some of that. 0.7s between Ninners & Andil and the rest of the field in qualifying seems a bit much though. Some of it is driver-related, but 0.7s seems … worrying. I still do think it's too early to draw conclusions though. We'll be able to tell more after Monza.

Monza will be an FF stomping. Won't be able to tell anything regarding specs.

The RWD's, the Hyundai in particular, worried me pre-season. After last night, they actually seem OK.

Hope the Alfa can do well. It can match the Volvo in a straight line from what I've seen last night.

Was able to pass you down the straight last night in the Volvo.

Also turns out Ryan was the "best of the rest" in terms of best lap time with a 17.4.

Only because I got very bad traction coming out of the final corner; it's a difficult car to pick up traction with.

I wasn't really faster than you off the the corner. I just out powered you towards the end of the straight.

I understeer like a bus, but think also being on pad is related to that...

Was learning some lines from a friend at the weekend and want to bring them to toca but just wondering if it would be classed as legal :D
