Pd have done everything they can to dampen enthusiasm for GT6. Sadly. It's currently on life support waiting for that final announcement of FT7 or no course maker to consign it to the skip.

Zero, and why? Because a place where I came to talk about gran turismo has become everything that's wrong with the gaming community. I get it, we were told that the corse creator is coming, but maybe PS3 hardware can't handle it as well as PD wants and they are saving it for GT7, or maybe they might nix it all together. I really don't care much if it comes out at all. I just like it for its variety of cars, I don't care if they are standard, and the variety of tracks, and the fact that all dlc for GT6 has been free. If there are other racing games that you prefer, go play them instead and bugger off.

Man you should play gotham project racing 4 if you really wanna see what a variety of tracks looks like  GT6 compare to that game in track variety is pretty much a 0 :nervous:

Well, to be honest, and not wanting to offend anyone. If you are desperate because of a very long delay of a console game update, then... your life may be a bit lacking in some way or another.
Actually, despite everyone's disagreement, I WILL agree with this statement. Indirectly, this is basically the hype train. Every single time that in the news there is an article saying about online maintenance, this is ALWAYS a new thread about what will happen after it. I hate it when people do this. If all everyone cares about is just a course maker, go play GT5 again. That had one.

Fortunately for us, this is a discussion forum with rules, and those rules give us the option of not buggering off just because someone tells us to bugger off.

As someone who see's the updates as a bonus on top of what I paid for, I don't mind either way. They're nice but they're not essential to the game play.

90% of my time is spent racing online with the last 10% being the seasonal chores. Usually the 10% comes from updates and soon forgotten about.

I'm only expressing my opinion. Yes, GT could be better, but that doesn't make it bad in my opinion. But the fact that a dedicated fan site of the game has become the ruination of the enjoyment of the game is what's Irking me. I like the gt series, and most of all other racing sims (driveclub is the only one that I don't like so much). The quality of this site from the time I joined to now has declined so much.

I gave it a 5. Why? It's been the same trend for me every time a new update comes out. I enjoy it a lot for about a week then I go back to the same old same old. I only play GT6 often these days because I have no other racing games that are as enjoyable :D

Gave it a 4. I still play the game but sim-racing is getting stale for me.

Mine is 60% GTPlanet, 30% GT6 Online, 9% Team skype chat, 1% offline GT6. :D

I voted 1 as I have lost faith in GT a long time ago. I have since moved on to other things and not missing the series in the least. I see, by reading these forums every now and then, that a lot of other people have done the same. I really think PD has dug themselves a hole that they'll have a hard time digging out of. The only ones left are the diehards that will stick with PD no matter what kind of bs they (PD/Kaz) throw at them. Not knocking the diehards, just saying that there is to many other games, and life itself for that fact, to wait around for PD to finally pull their thumb out of their ass. You see, I used to be one of those diehards myself until I finally realized that there is more to life than just GT and all the bs that their developer keeps throwing out there. Good luck to those still holding out hope, hope you all get what you're holding out for. (course maker, ect.)

The Fact that i recently bought older GT games (GT5P, GT3 and GT4) and spent more time playing and enjoying those games than GT6 brings the fact GT6 is a massive pile of 🤬.

I still play GT6 but much less than before...changing my vote from "4" to "2". I just feel really sad that everyone including Huge GT Fans leaving, i can't blame anyone except PD...i always thought that GT5 is a massive disappointment but comparing the fun i had in GT5 to GT6....is rather uncompareable.

GT5 blows GT6 away in the fun i had.

PD know, “They can please some of the people all of the time, they can please all of the people some of the time, but they can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

Oh well. They'll still sell games.

You're not expressing your opinion, you're being an arse. Telling other people to bugger off is not an opinion. It's a command.

If you don't like the negative side of GTP, perhaps avoid coming into threads with titles like "how much enthusiasm will you have left"? You know exactly what you're going to find. It's like a homophobe going into a gay bar and complaining about how all bars are full of queers.

I'll definitely welcome the updates and surely will play a lot of it but what I want in the update is some good value added features such as the promised course maker or more online events and not just some new cars which I probably don't give a single thing about it.

Actually, @jagenigma is right here. This is not A GT site anymore. GT6 has been overtaken by nearly every other racing game out there. This site should be renamed ForzaPlanet or GTPCars.

That's a byproduct of Polyphony's release and update schedule.

Once upon a time, Gran Turismo was the racing game. Especially for people who weren't into super serious PC sims.

That's no longer the case. Gran Turismo's most recent offering is on a legacy system, is still incomplete nearly two years after release, and is arguably a step down from it's predecessor. It's natural that people with an interest in these sort of games are going to start eyeing up what else is out there. On current gen we've got FM5 and 6, FH2, pCARS, Driveclub, and AC is coming.

GT Planet has done the smart thing. Instead of letting the users go elsewhere, it's developed into a sort of casual sim-racing forum for all games of that type. The name sticks, because history. But yeah, it's expanded beyond purely Gran Turismo.

It's great, because it means that people like me who have diversified our racing games while we wait for Gran Turismo to regain it's form can stay here with the people that we like. And the staff that we like. And all the rest of the things about GTP that make it better than every other forum.

Sure, we have to put up with people telling us we should GTFO for not liking GT6, but whatever. The ignore function works pretty well.

So no, he's not right. He likes Gran Turismo, and that's fine. Other people don't, or at least not the current version of it, and that's fine too. He doesn't get to tell others to bugger off, just because he doesn't like their opinion of the current state of the game.

The "state" of the forums are a reflection of how some people feel about the game, and that's as it should be. When there's a major update for GT6 or news about GT7, then you'll probably see the GT sections of the boards explode with action and positivity again. As many have noted, the general population seems unable to restrain themselves from getting hyped at the slightest hint of Gran Turismo news.

But right now, nothing has happened for a while and we have no news to indicate that this is going to change any time soon. It's no surprise that the forums are somewhat despondent. Polyphony and Sony have made their own bed with that one, by making a game that appears to generally considered to be not that great, and by having some incredibly flaky support and communication to go along with it.

One voted 1. PD shouldn't of released GT6 on the PS3 in the first place in my opinion, with the PS4 releasing around the same time especially. No course creator included after almost 2 years is just diabolical, what a way to lose trust to loyal fans... Fact of the matter is that PD cannot be trusted after that alone. (Not interested in PD sob stories of 'We got sued', 'In Beta Now' ' <Insert your own idea on why they can't complete GT6 guessing games> etc). Fact is, they can't deliver 👍

Next GT game will be a highly scrutinised possible purchase for myself before committing. If GT is now aiming squarely at solely a casual friendly game only then it's a no buy for me.

I don't feel that releasing GT6 on the PS3 was a mistake, I think the real problem is how long PD are taking to release a game on the PS4. The silence isn't really helping, either. People are getting fed up and moving onto other games.

I agree.

I think the way they ended up doing it was a mistake. That late in the console's lifecycle, they needed to be able to throw the game out and just let it go with minimal support while they put all effort into getting GT7 out within the next two years. GT6 should probably have been GT5 Spec 3.0, but just with a different label. That would have been just fine. GT7 should have been coming out this holiday season, at the latest.

Instead they tried to be clever, and introduce all these fancy new features that took time post-release. And then they've painted themselves into a corner: either they spend resources making these features which delays GT7, or they disappoint paying customers by jerking their chain. In the end, it's been a bit of both.

They could have skipped all the post-added features except VGT and Senna (which were arguably only content and not really "features" anyway), and just filled it out with what they had from GT5 and earlier. GT5 course maker with another couple of locations. GT4-style B Spec. GT5P quick match. Slam that game out the door as a last hurrah for PS3, take their quick infusion of cash and push GT7 with both hands. Use the new more powerful system for all their revolutionary ideas, instead of wasting their time trying to cram stuff onto old hardware.

I like the game still and occasionally love it.

Ive fell in love with it more as my simulator has come along. I could never play a car game with a controller again..

I think i could enjoy GT6 for years to come and i would be happy lapping Bathurst in a Skoda on my own if thats all i had. I love pushing the limit.. thats what racing is (to me).

Id like to see GT7 and i look forward to getting a PS4 and Project Cars.
I could buy it tomorrow but im not yet dissapointed entirely with GT6.

Even a PC for my 3 screens would be good so i can get onbard the IRacing train.. but for good value GT6 and a PS3 are still great.

my 2c

Couldn't agree more 👍

This game has died for me. I've waited 2 years for the course maker, a feature that was advertised before the game was released, and now it arrives but it's a mobile application?

Yeah, no thanks Polyphony. No amount of updates for shinnies will be able to pull me back in again after this.
