Sup all..

Recently I've had the problem of my FTO LM Race Car having lost a TON of its acceleration. No settings have been changed. Oil has been changed after a couple races since its aquisition. Currently has 596 HP.. but for some odd reason cannot pull to 170MPH as quickly as before..infact it takes a full lap around TEST COURSE to hit 180~..

Any ideas? I have not touched the gear ratio (i believe factory is AUTO 35?)

How many miles has it done?

Cars lose power after they hit a certain distance. No amount of oil can bring it back up.

Are you sure you haven't changed any settings? has anyone else been playing on it? Are you seeing similar things to other cars? Do you have sharkport or any other device that lets you hack into the games code?

If none of the above, just change the settings so it does accelerate, if you have a sharkport or action replay ect they can cause lots of odd glitches.

My Calsonic Skyline feels just fine. Not sure what the hell is wrong here... I loved my GTO LM! :(

[edit] I do not use sharkport..

The GTO LM has approx 290~ miles on it.. but my skyline has over 300 and it's still fine. Are LM cars easily de-tuned?

BTW: I love the fast replies! :O

I'm using a Logitech Driving Force Pro (The one for GT4).

Do you think theres something wrong with the pedals?

Is it unusual for the LM cars to loose power after so little miles?

The power lost after the car gets old is really not that noticeable - less than 5%. You probably wouldn't feel it, though you might see lap times going up by a few tenths.

Two things come to mind:

1) You didn't change the Autoset, but did you change the final drive?

2) Did you make a big increase in downforce? Aerodynamic aids add a lot of drag, and the stock downforce settings are pretty small.

One other thing you can try: go to the "Change Parts" screen, and select the Race Transmission. Then, select it again. This should reset it to the original default gear settings, incase they got screwed up accidentally.

Hope this helps. Welcome to GTPlanet!

It could be the driving force pro, theres been a bug in some of them where they don't accelertae as hard as you can with a pad. Do a search here for driving force pro and see if theres any info, also try using a pad and see if your cars accelerate properly then, if they do you need a new wheel.

Figured it out... I had to shut off the PS2, and unplug the power cable from the Wheel..

I've had to do this several times because of stuck Force Feedback Responses...

Is my wheel defective?

I think so, but make sure for yourself before you do anything about it.

The final power loss for older cars is only 2%.

Prize cars start to lose power at 500km (311mi) and continue to drop until 600km (373mi) when it reaches 2% loss.

Dealer cars start to lose power at 800km (497mi) and continues to drop until 900km (559mi) when it reaches 2% loss.

This is in question #5 of my GT3 FAQ.

Some of the problems with the Driving Force Pro may be mitigated by disabling force feedback.

Sorry ExigeExcel, but was that really nesscesary?

Exige, it is necessary to spell nessecesary, "necessary" otherwise you look stoopid.

i have always loved my FTO LM and have never had any problems with it....it tends to lose grip on high speed corners @ 960 Bhp but i find it necessary to brake a bit earler and use a strong brake setting for this car....

i found changeing your oil at different times change ur hp (for like the first 2 times)

my f1 went to 725 after first change, then i changed it b4 it went black cause i had to do a series race and it went down to 711!

And the problem was sorted on page 1, so quit saying the oil needs changing and **** like that, it was his wheel.
