Fuel Gauge in GT4

I was playing GTP yesterday, and I noticed something interesting. You know how in GT3 there was that light that would go on when you needed to change to oil? Well, in GTP, right next to that is something that looks an awful lot like a fuel gauge.
Has anybody else heard anything about this? Could make those endurance races a bit more interesting, especially with hybrid cars. (Not that you`d really want to do an endurance race in a Prius.)

Sorry, I don`t have anything that could take a screenshot, but any screenshot you can find on the internet from the drivers POV should have the gauge in it. Its black, and the background behind it is dark gray, so its pretty difficult to see, but its definately there. Its on the right-hand gauge, I can`t remember off-hand its thats the speed gauge or RPM gauge. There are three lights there, one for the hand-brake, one for the oil, and a third one, which I think is a fuel gauge. Once the light goes on, I`d imagine it`d be pretty obvious, but the longest race you can do in GTP is five laps, so there isn`t a chance to use up that much fuel.

Yeah I'm pretty sure its a petrol pump symbol if I remember correctly, didn't really take much notice off it since in GT : P theres no fuel usage except the Prius test. :)

Are you serious??!! There+s going to be limited fuel in GT4 :D

Wohooo (Sabrina(as in teenage witch of course) style)

Damn I can´t wait to play this game

Fuel economy would problably upset and dissapoint people who already hate the idea of dyno tests and 1000 meter races

But im up for it. No more banging from wall to wall on worn tires while the AI pits every 3 laps.

dyno tests? did i miss something while playing gt3 for all those hours or is that a mistake? that would be pretty sweet. a short fmv of your car strapped up to a dyno making some pulls. That would be very...dynamic. Instead of just numbers on menu screens. Skippable of course to those already pissed off at pressing so many buttons for confirmation in the game.

It's there strickley for the Prius, I think. You must race a certain race with this car and cross the finish line under a certain time, and under a certain fuel level.

I don't know exactly how it's going to be used in GT4, and nobody else does, either. But, I imagine, and hope, there will be a race using the Prius, and other hybrid cars, trying hard to use little fuel as possible.

If it is really the case, I really hope that fuel consumption will be realistic. I mean not like the tires in the previous GT games...

the more you drive hard, the more your burn fuel !!! and also the engine type is important...

(hopefully, we will not see any TDI or HDI engines !!!)

It would be nice if you could choose the capacity of fuel you take for racing... but I find strange that it is only one warning light... and no more precise indicator .. we'll see

Any screenshot ???

Why not TDI?? It would be VERY COOL to have diesel engines and to feel their high torque at low rpm :) That would make racing more interesting....

Why ?

I would say that there are so many interresting cars I'd rather find in GT4 than a polo TDI.

In my opinion, such engines are not really made for races... even if famous races were already won by such equiped cars. ( as far as I remember the 12H of Spa by an TDI audi... but I may be wrong)

It's like a religion you see and when I see that even Jaguar propose such engines now, it really sounds choking... ( and I'm sure Porsche is not so far away from giving the Cayenne such an engine)

I really hope no TDI will ever race the 24 H of leMans.. if it is not too late...

I do not say I hate them as they are really nice to drive but races are not their world....

Nowadays diesel engines have quite impressive technology, especially turbocharged.

I know that "standart polo tdi" would be too slow, but if you could put there 200hp and 500Nm beast a think that would be nice :) To compare it against S2000 :)

Anyway you can always play with other cars and leave such ones to ppl that like racing with diesel :)

If they made that realistic then all the races would have to be realistic length. Are you up for every race being over an hour long?

People would have to give fuel economy some consideration at start. For example Joe buys a Dodge Charger & gets like 15mpg if hes lucky hehe where as Bob buys a VW Polo TDi & gets 50mpg :D

After the first 3 races Joe was bankrupt ;)

Oh wait I was thinking GT4 : British version

Ha ha ha, but seriously you're right. It's not so much the cost either, as the additional pit stops and extra time it takes to fuel.

Shame on anyone who would buy either a Charger or Polo TDi for racing .

Add a Polo TDi to SCCA racing and it would place last by the end of the race. The Polo driver would not win anything other than respect for trying ;)

How so? To me diesel racing sounds really interesting option and after all you're not supposed to compete against cars from different classes since it would be too unfair :p

Peugeot RC Concept would make a formidable diesel sports car if it ever came into production, so i wouldn't disregard diesel power just yet.

Do you know what car won Nurburgring 24 hours race, couple (or little bit earlier) years ago? There were Vipers and Lambos and etc.... well it was BMW diesel!

So don't write off sport-diesels.

Didn't Vauxhall enter a diesel last year?

And On topic... Yes there's a fuel warning light in all cars in GT:P also there is a space for a fuel warning light in the new HUD that was shown at E3...

I really hope that fuel plays a part in the endurance races and therefore makes the idea of Pit Stop strategies so much tighter. (Although we'll now have to pit on the super speedway enduro!!)

There should also be the possibility of lossing a race do to you having no gas, and just getting DQ from the race do to having no more gas, and then the pace car could come out and they will remove you outta the course. lolz it would be nice.
