I want to know if the way i drive uses more fuel, just won a race at the daytona 500 endurance race using audi le mans race car & i could only do around 20+ laps until i had to re-fuel, so how can the computer controled audi like mine do 44 laps until he re-fuels.

I dont get it.

Yes, but sadly the fuel efficiency on all cars are the same... sadly..

Would love if the audi r10 and pug 908 drove 3 times as long per gallon as the other le mans cars in real life..

i haven't really tried fuel saving methods but using manual trans and short shifting maybe 1000 rpm short of redline should reduce fuel usage.
ai cars change spot on the redline.

to save fuel/tires is pointless, because you lose more time in saving fuel, than fast laps and more stops

IMO against the Ai, lap them, lap them and lap them and pit when necessary. But in an online race, if you run hard you will have to pit in approx. 20 laps so the key is to lift off the gas and let the draft drive for you. Also never shift on Daytona, why would you? Run in highest gear gives less rotations = less tire wear. And another trick is the wheel alignment settings and lsd settings. Manipulate these and tire wear will be extended. But as for fuel mileage, left off the gas at Daytona, plenty of draft and free riding there.

Also never shift on Daytona, why would you? Run in highest gear gives less rotations = less tire wear?

Running in highest gear means the engine uses less fuel not less tyre wear, whether your doing 70mph in 5th, 6th or 7th gear means your wheels are still doing 70mph, the engine just isnt turning as fast, saving fuel.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I knew the method just not fully understood the reasoning. I have the right idea, but now it makes more sense. Thank you TweakMonster, I learn something new everyday.

Every car starts the race with 100 liters onboard. Slower driving and early shifting uses less fuel; and Peugeot 207 will consume less than say Ferrari Enzo :)
