Purists and those with preternatural thumbs may scoff at doing anything the easy way. Me, I'm an old man with a wheel and I like doing things the sure-fire, can't-miss, slam-dunk easy way. So here's the easy-win setup for Fuji:

Trans: AT
TCS: 1
Skid Recovery: On
Active Steering: Off
ASM: On
ABS: 1

Some have said the rest of the setup doesn't matter, but here's what I used:

Tires: Soft
Downforce: Maximum
Gears: 261
LSD: 15-45-55
Brakes: 6/2
Ride Height: -5/0
Springs: 16.4/17.5
Extension: 6/8
Compression: 5/7
Camber: 2.5/1.5
Toe: -0.25/+0.15

One fairly important rule to remember is to brake as much as possible in a straight line.

Respectfully submitted,
Dotini

Many thanks! I plan on tackling the FGT Championship tomorrow morning, I'll definitely be using this setup.

The Auto tranny is a life saver for this race. You go through the gears so fast, on twisty tracks it gets a bit too much. Also, remember, when doing the championship, never give up on the race. The boosting is very high in the championship, so even if you fall last, you can still get back to first even with less ideal laps. (I spun out 3 times at Nurbergring, but still came first :P)

Ok, if that works for you, but I used minimum down force, minimum ride height, both springs 17.5. Gave it to my bob and he owned with a gap of 40 seconds by the end.

why have 261 for speed you can never get to anywhere near that speed on this track ???

Yeah, you are right - if you take the lead at the first or 2nd corner and never look back, which is quite easy to do. The 261 figure is an artifact left over from when I would use the extra speed to draft into the lead towards the end of the first lap.

I have also since revised the setup to adjust rear camber to under 1.0 - this smoothes (makes less abrupt) the rear-end breakaway - and have also raised the front spring rate slightly and leveled the ride height to -5 at both ends.

Note: when doing the Championship series, you are liable to run into rain at Monza and Suzuka. This is a good thing, as your advantage over the AI will be magnified. Your setup can be helped by raising ride height, softening all springs, and cutting the rear anti-roll bar strength by half or more, and reset brakes down to 4/1.
