Is it just me or does the Fuji Speedway 2005 look like rubbish? I mean, the first time I saw this track I thought my beloved PS2 had a glitch and screwed up the textures. The track is just far too black and those grey and white specs which are used to make it look like tarmac look downright silly. I could be wrong it the real track actually looked like this but still, it seems like a last minute second-rate job to me. Anyone else agree? :indiff:

Not a fan of that track. Lots of slow, clumsy, uphill corners which make it difficult to get the nose of the car into the apex.

You have to understand that Fuji 2005 is a work in progress. The track, in its game form, has no shut down markers, direction signs or other drivers aides. All this will be added if and when the real track gets them. I believe this is a proposed track for future F1 races and I bet it will be changed in real life from the game version before it is put into use.

That said, after you run a couple 100 laps there, you will find the layout is not as bad as you think. And, unlike a lot of "sandtrap" tracks, you are not punished badly for a little off-course excursion. The tight sections are surprisingly fast once you figure out the real apexes (most of the tight corners are taken 2 at a time, not as individual corners).

I still think Fuji 80s is the best of the Fuji tracks, but Fuji 2005 is now 2nd 👍

i dont like it as i cant see where the corner goes. i end up turning too late as its hard to see such a thin strip of grass between the tarmac

It's a Tilke track so it sucks. :D

*off topic* Even though I hate Sepang and the other Tilkefests, the new Istanbul circuit looks pretty awesome. A Tilke track with hills and fast corners! It would be nice to see some different designers create circuits for F1 though.

The tarmac at Fuji '05 is probably so black because the track is *gasp* new! :dopey:

Ever see fresh asphalt? It's all black. Ever see old asphalt? It looks grey, with black marks where most people drive.

It's nearly impossible to judge the corners properly in bumper cam. I really hate having the race it. The only plus side is when you go off there's asphalt on the sides instead of grass/traps so you can just keep going.
