Another topic I sometimes think about is the impact on the economy and ultimately the impact on the lives of ordinary people that cannot live off investment returns but as of now need income from their labour.
Even though I have masters in economics it is absolutely incomprehensible to me what would happen if human labour was truly obsolete.
Two plausible scenarios is that for some reason (I can't think of one tbh) the powerful decide that the insane new wealth (or at least all the almost free products invented and produced by our AI robot armies) is spread to all humans via some sort of universal basic income (UBI).
The other scenario is the collapse of current welfare systems and a swift divide of society into haves and have nots like in Elysium. And of course the haves would command the super human weapons systems that have god like powers compared to some hill billy and his AR 15.
Does anybody have anything good on this topic?
