Surprise Nights returns for 2012!

We'll be having a few 5 lap races and perhaps a 10 lap feature race at a suprise track in a surpise car.

These will take place on Monday 27th February at 9:00pm GMT.

All GTPlanet members are welcome and the racing will suit beginner to average drivers best.

All driving aids are allowed.

The race will be held in my lounge (RDAardvark). Please send a friend request to this id.

The lounge will open at 8:30pm GMT, and the racing will start at 9:00pm GMT.

Please do NOT join the room before 8:30, as this might cause problems in the setup.
And do remember to clear network cache and restart your PS3 before joining.

You will not know what car you are racing until you join the room. The car will be ready to pick up in the garage when the lounge opens.

There will be no points awarded. Please try to keep the racing as clean as possible, but don't be too alarmed about the odd bump, alright? Banter while driving is more than welcome, so grab your headset. (This may limit participation to 12)

I honestly cannot remember when the mic was last switched on: Most races ban them at the moment for fear of lag.

Is anybody using a wheel? I've not been racing online much lately, or reading much on the forum, but I assume the glitch still exists for wheel users? Ah well, it'll be fun anyway!

Looking forward to it.
 
What glitches may that be? I've been off the grid (gt-wise) for a while aswell

I don't seem to have suffered much, if at all, but I've not raced online for a while now.

It seems to be mostly fixed now.
 
Yeah, I haven't heard anyone complaining recently about this.
I'd be wary if it was a race for points in a full room, just in case.
But I haven't had any problems with anyone reporting grip glitches in the past 2 weeks in any of my races.

Though I did have a series of disconnects Thursday night from a private lounge, which is very odd for me. This is the 2nd Thursday evening (EST) in a row that I've had some kind of problems, so I'm thinking it's some Arthur Dent curse I've got going. ;)

And don't get me started about the qualifying grid order issues that seem to be a perpetually changing mystery in gt5. :boggled:
So I'm to the point now where all my races involving qualifying are qualified as "informal qualifying" meaning, let's not take it too seriously, and if it gets bungled up, just go with it and make the best. :lol:

I've been watching the thread closely hoping for some hint. I haven't been on at the same time as RDAardvark, to try & catch him in his lounge messing about with the settings or sneakily practicing!!! :lol:
 
I wanna race on something different this time ... like reverse track: High speed Ring reverse is one of the most underrated track imo cause it's pretty epic ( if you have an LMP car is just awesome ), also Deep Forest Raceway Reverse is just .. WOW : D

Sorry, no clues, except we'll be trying something I've certainly not done before in Fun Racers.

Oh no wait... Ford Focus on Laguna Seca...

Well, we know it won't be the Cobra on Monza, at least. (That's a bad combination, let me tell you. :ouch: :lol:)
