Holy mother of God that is a sweet gun! 👍

Are these yours? it must have been a fun afternoon without a doubt. The best thing I'm accessible right now is my air sniper rifle, which shoots at 1000 fps... :indiff:

So I guess a scary guy can always get scarier anytime huh? :p

Edited first post. Yeah, the Super Red Hawk is mine. My wife won it for $10 at a charity raffle. :D

Screw the Blade of Olympus. I've got a AR15!

Looks like a whole bag of fun, Pako! :)

All appendages (and eyes) present and accounted for, I presume? :p

That Ruger is just awesome. Why do the cylinders on your revolvers look so dirty though? Did you just get done using them?

Yes... barely. One of the guys (avid gun enthusiast, ex-military) was showing me his other combat pistol (sorry can't remember what model so I didn't list it, nor did I shoot it) and was in the process in showing me how it has a feather trigger when it fired a round into the ground. Although he was following the rule of "don't point at anyone" it scare the crap out of everyone...., it fired into the snow, not 6" from where my brother was standing.... Fricken idiot. Anyways, that was the one and only close call. The lesson to be learned here is "UNLOAD THE GUN BEFORE YOU GO SHOWING SOMEONE HOW IT WORKS!!!!".

But yeah, we fired off over a 1,000 rounds of ammo. :D

I've never held a gun, but I'd know to unload it before showing it to someone.

Yeah, just got done shooting a few boxes through them.

Exactly. He was getting ready to shoot when he was like, "Here, have you ever seen one of these work?" Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. He could have easily taken the clip out.

Charlton Heston approves of this thread.

Badass guns btw!

Nice pako. Those .44's are nice, but, I know someone who has a .500 magnum. Which is arguably the most pointless handgun in the world. But it is LOUUUUUD.

Cool AR15, my dad's got one of those, with an adapter for (I think) .22 bullets.

Have you ever gone golfing? One of my automotive teachers once showed us a video of him and his friends playing a game. You get a narrow pipe and stick it up out of the ground, and set the golf ball on top. You then stand with the end of the barrel right up by the golf ball and shoot at it to make it fly towards the desired destination (I think they used trees instead of holes). Different guns are like different clubs - I saw both shotguns and various handguns... the ball didn't always survive, of course, but it looked like fun!

Leaving one bullet chambered and ready to go into the ground. 💡

Looks like good fun Pako. But....

You do look a bit like a psychopath with that expression on your face.

Edit: If I had a little more time I'd cut Pako's face out and put it on this:

I was about to mention something about Leeroy Jenkins but I will let someone else do it.

 It was a blast. How could you not have that kind of expression holding a semi-automatic rifle that can hit a target with open sights at a 100yrds. Just as fast as you can pull the trigger, you can fire off a round. :D

I'm just saying that it changes you when you're holding equipment capable of that kind of power. ;)

This Golf you speak of sound a little dangerous, and a lot of stupid.
I've seen milspec .45 hardball ricochet off of 1/4 inch steel, with out leaving a dent. A "bounced" bullet will still do serious damage to anyone it hits.
This game sounds like a recipe for "injury due to friendly fire".
Also, if you fire at something right next to the barrel the likelihood of getting debris in the barrel is pretty high.
I don't know about you, but I think I'd hate to be the one to fire a gun that had a blocked or semi-blocked barrel.

I must have watched that clip close to 50 times, I still can;t get over how unbelievably unlucky (yet amazingly lucky) that guy was.

My friend has an m-16 carbine that a policeman in boston helped him outfit.

He couldn't explain it to me but maybe you guys can: what is the difference between a normal m-16 and a carbine?

Wiki Reference:
A carbine is a firearm similar to a rifle or musket, but generally shorter and of lesser power. Many carbines, especially modern designs, were developed from rifles, being essentially shortened versions of full rifles firing the same ammunition, although often at a lower velocity. There have also been many where the carbine and rifle adopted by a particular nation were not technically related, such as using completely different ammunition or internal operating systems (though the carbine still being weaker, or of smaller size). Either may be more common, depending on the time period. There are also a limited number of pistol-caliber carbines, designed by integrating the action of a handgun such as a revolver or autoloader into a longer weapon with a rifle barrel and stock. They are generally employed as a more accurate alternative to a traditional handgun, and are used by some police teams and by civilian sport shooters.
(Muzzle Velocity)
Regular M16
3,200 ft/s (975 m/s) (M16A1)
3,050 ft/s (930 m/s) (M16A2)
Carbine - 2,900 ft/s (884 m/s)
your friend may have a M4.

Well Pako, I am officially jealous. Living in the UK I doubt I will get the chance to have a fire of a few guns on a range. If I where to go to the US on holiday are there any laws against holidayer's going to firing ranges :p

I would love to fire a few different types of weapons one day.

Firing Range? We just went into the woods off the road. Had to tell the cross country skiers they might want to stay clear of the trails until we were gone. :)

The gated road said we had to be 1000 yards past the gate and away from any houses. It was state land.

Just a license to own one, I believe ( here in the US)

No license except for maybe special permits for concealed weapons, ect.

Not exactly sure, but I think you just need to be 18 and free of a felony conviction to purchases a gun. At least until a different law is past, to the best of my knowledge.

I don't know exact about California but isn't there a medical background check( or just a background check) also?

I realised you weren't on a range, but thats about the best chance I would get of firing of a few rounds. would it be legal for me to turn up to a firing range in the US and try some weaponry despite not living in the country? Merely being on holiday.

I doubt I would be able to get a licences whilst on holiday

it wouldn't be a case of owning a gun either, I wouldn't be able to take it home :p

I would imagine it would take a while to apply for a permit would it not? I am over 18 and don't have any criminal convictions but that all applies to the Uk of course.

Carrying a handgun concealed within a vehicle is prohibited without a license. A handgun carried in a glove compartment or under the seat of a vehicle is considered to be concealed. A handgun placed in the trunk of an automobile, or locked in a container in the vehicle other than the utility or glove compartment or while in a locked container carried directly to or from a vehicle is deemed not to be "concealed." A locked container means a fully enclosed secure container locked by a key lock or similar locking device.

Exceptions to this prohibition are:

* Members of clubs organized for practice shooting while on any established target range or going to and from such range.

* Licensed hunters and fishermen while engaged in hunting or fishing and while going to or from such hunting or fishing expeditions and members of an antique or historical collector's club while at a show, or while going to and from a display as long as the weapons are locked in a trunk or are in a locked container.

Ruger .44 Super Red Hawk - open sights at 30 yrds (Mine)

Ah wow you have a Ruger Super Redhawk, I had one in .44 stainless, after all my handguns I owned that was always my favorite. Is that the 7.5 or 9.5 inch barrel the picture on the angle I can't really tell for sure, mine was the 9.5 incher.

They are a seriously strong (and heavy :D) and reliable revolver, I loaded the hotest .44 loads possible in that (made my own ammo) constantly and it loved it, once I got it so hot you could only touch the grip. I found it very accurate too even with the extra high power loads, with open sites I was hitting shotgun shells at 50 meters sometimes (from a rest), the problem was the the shell is to small behind the open site you can see it and are only guessing. :)

Only thing I didn't like was after a lot of high power loads the grip felt a little small and the gun front heavy and the edge of the grip started digging into my hand, I ended up getting a after market Hagemeyer grip, which looks awesome and fixed the problem.

After the Super Redhawk (still had plenty of semiautos) I got a Dan Wesson in .357 Maximum (longer more powerful version of .357 magnum) which had the removal interchangable barrel, I was never happy with it and it was not all that reliable.

I can post some pics of some of the guns if anyone is interested.

Only thing I never shot here in Australia was automatic weapons, so when I was in Las Vegas I went to a range and fired a M16 assault rifle and M246 machine gun in full auto, you wont have any trouble finding a range to shoot at over there in most states. I am suprised they dont have ranges you can go to for handguns and rifles in the UK?

To see you doing something like that is completely surreal for someone who lives where I do, Ireland. Barely anyone has a gun here, apart from a few shot guns. Not even our own Guards (police) have weapons. And to here that it is that easy to get a gun there it makes me wonder how your gun related violence is so 'low'?
