Funny GT5 stories

About a year ago I dropped in to an 'EU Road Laws' room to chill out and take a break from my usual track-day & shuffle race routine. The course was Le Mans without chicanes, and the host was an ill-tempered small town sheriff doing a cracking job maintaining the rule of law in his souped-up PaceCar. So I find myself in my Dodge Ram, ride height maxed out for a trucker style POV, cruising behind some pasty white 80's JDM at the beginning of the straight. He was crawling at about 10 below the speed limit, so therefore was I, only a few feet behind. I expected him to see me in his rear-view mirror and pick up the pace a bit. He didn't; and its a looong straight at that speed. My inner bully showed his ugly nature and I blasted my newly installed (and untested) Tank Horn. He wobbled left then immediately ploughed into the right-hand side armco. I felt awful watching his motionless car in my huge mirrors. Jeezus that thing is loud.

I played a similar trick on one of my Ring buddies that I was running with in a free run, I was using the same 458 as mentioned in the idiot thread (except obviously much better sorted..) and my ring buddy was using his maxxed out impreza TC.. They were pretty equal, the 458s speed in a straight line was balanced out by the Imprezas quickness in the corners, the two cars were able to trade positions with each other. However, as we were coming up to kleins karussell the impreza had gotten a big lead on the 458 through the tight section previous, but the 458 I knew was going to pull the Impreza right back in down dottinger-hohe because it had 170 extra horses. So we get to dottinger hohe and sure enough the 458 gets a serious run on the Impreza.. I decided to scare the 🤬 out of my buddy. I got in his draft, built up a run, and then at the last second before had to swerve to pass him, i started blowing the Horn and flashing the lights wildly right before I swerved to blow by him, i got him so good that when I surprised him he ran off the road and wrecked. Haha.

Now I must say in case someone flames me, the guy who I spooked, I've been PSN friends with him for a long time, it was a good laugh between buddies (we did laugh about it for a good bit after and he did get me back later on), it wasnt just some sick joke on a random driver, if it was a random person I would clearly never do that.

I used to troll friends with my life van by sitting in tunnels with pause ghost and blasting the tank car horn and I did genuinely scare a few and also it's the worst colour ever,fluorescent pink with yellow wheels and big wing.

I've been lucky enough not to have been flamed.... yet, but I should give this a try when I'm on a shuffle race and the dude behind me will try to take me out. ;p They will pay lol

It has the best effect when the car you're using has a big speed advantage, by the time I flew past him the Ferrari was going so much faster that the Subaru looked like it was standing still.. I want to say the Subaru was doing somewhere just over the 170 mark while the Ferrari was doing over 200... I remember it was about to max out so it was at about 216 or so I think...

I have a tank car on some of my cars for comedic effect, and others for cars I do not stop with. If I join a free run room I'll pull out one of my cars with the horn. If there are people acting stupid, I'll just blow right through them while blowing the horn if they do something idiotic in front of me.

Example: Some jack:censored: rams another idiot off the road. Both cars spin out. Then, as I am approaching, I lay down on the horn and plow through both of those morons.
 
Tank car horns on small slow cars are good fun and they have a awesome echo in tunnels.
 
I once made an awesome save in Bergwark that ended up being hilarious.. I was using my other ring runner Ferrari (my maxxed out flourescent green 430 Scuderia.. Beautiful car and to me one of my best tuning works, second only to the NSX.. But anyways) I was coming down ex-muhle into Bergwark dueling with an XJ220 LM and closing fast on a Delorean, I was trying to set him up so I could take him at the exit to Bergwark because he was a slow car and I figured the Ferrari would have no trouble with it. However I set up too far to the outside for Bergwark (pushing too hard I guess to keep the fight up with the Jag, which the 430 could run with..) and the Ferrari ended up putting the left rear wheel in the grass, of course when I hit the brakes, it snapped completely sideways in an instant. So now, 🤬.. I got an out of control Ferrari on my hands that's about to cream an unsuspecting Delorean ahead of me.. I figured it was completely gone. I did apply full opposite lock to keep it on its side of the track and from getting completely out of control, diving across the track and creaming the Delorean in the process. As the Ferrari is on the verge of a spin, I get a gut feeling to hit the gas full power at the last second.. So I'm thinking okay, I will try this, so I hit the gas. To my amazement, the doomed Ferrari suddenly wasn't doomed. The boot in the carpet from me cancelled its date with the barrier, and the horsepower infusion with the full lock i had already applied instead sent the car sliding around Bergwark... 90 degrees sideways, I mean any further sideways and this car was going to spin.. It made the corner completely fine, and then when I backed off the throttle at the end it pulled out of the slide, straightened out and kept going. The funny part? As the car was sliding around the corner it passed the DeLorean around the outside so far sideways that I swear to god I was perpendicular to his car and could look right at the cheesily rendered head inside... I felt like such a boss after that pass. Haha. :cheers:

So... what track was that on? I'm not good at remembering the names of turns on famous tracks.

It's the sharp fast right hander at the upper part of the track map.. That small left hand kink feeds into it after the downhill straight, it empties out into a loose left hand sweeper.. It's not a corner where a normal outside pass would have gone well.. In fact I hadn't intended to pass the Delorean at all.. That part happened by accident and only because of the way the Ferrari ended up taking the corner.

I posted this one story in "Worst you've dealt with online" about a year ago, but it was pretty funny so I'll tell it again (without copy+paste)....

So about two years ago, I joined a lobby with the track as trial mountain. Host was there, but we weren't racing: It was just a free run. We were doing a few drag races in the main straight, but overall we were just having a fun time.

After some time, someone joins in an X1 and just starts ramming everyone. We soon got fed up, so we all jumped into our fastest cars mine being an FGT (I didn't have an X1 at the time) and started 'fighting fire with fire'. After a while I got the brilliant idea of trapping him, so we all trapped him in a corner, and despite the power in his car, he couldn't escape. After 30 seconds of being stuck, he rage quit! :lol::lol::lol:

That was most certainly the funniest time I've had in GT5; I almost fell off my chair.
 
In our twice weekly room last Saturday, we had quite a few new guys. The host selected the "Wings of the Red Dragon" track for the one race, with no PP restriction. The results, predictably, were hilarious...

It has what is probably the most hectic jump in GT5. Hi powered cars fly literally hundreds of metres, yet it looks totally innocuous. :lol:

I have it on share if you want to give it a bash. (PSN: Rhinoafrica) Great for a laugh, but hard on your cars, lol! Try an X1 & hold on to your seat...

I've played on several jump tracks before, not sure if they were Wings of the Red Dragon, but I'll add you when I get home from school. (I might send you an FR around 3:00 PM EST)
