To be serious, it's a product marketed to people transitioning from VHS to DVD, hopefully so they think DVDs are like VHS tapes and you need to rewind them to watch them again.

No, it's very real. Well, depending on how you look at it. It's meant as a gag gift, so it's not "real" in that it's not marketed to actually rewind DVDs (although it does spin the disc), but it's a real product. Do a Google, you'll find 'em for sale on various techy websites.
