Furious with Update 1.06

The reason I’m so pissed off right now has to do with the reset of the leaderboards... No I am not upset that they reset them despite being ranked number 1 on a Tokyo Express Sector and number 2 on a Sector in Maggiore. I’m pissed off because it doesn’t register your new times on the leaderboards unless you beat your own previous best time and for some of my challenges I would have to pour hours and hours into a single challenge to try and beat my previous best... it doesn’t register on Local or Global Leaderboards... like come on wtf

Here is an example...

Say my previous highscore is 21.789. (Patch 1.05)

Under the new conditions with fresh Leaderboards (Patch 1.06) the World Record is 21.900...

I run it again and I get 21.790 (Faster than the new World Record but slower than my old time) guess what! It doesn’t count and doesn’t get saved to the Leaderboards because it’s slower than my old time.

They just need to erase the old personal best or set them all to the bare minimum for whatever trophy you achieved.

Dude relax..... just play again if its so importend to you. Its logical that its reset because of gameplay changes.

Did you even read the post... I don’t care that it reset one bit... I’m pissed because you have to beat your previous best in order to show up on any Leaderboards including your own with your friends.

I don’t notice a difference in the gameplay.

Why would it show times achieved under different conditions? That would hardly be fair. Just be glad you still have the award, it’s hardly the end of the world is it
 
Suspect they did it like this so that the cheaters who used the exploits to set ridiculous times e.g. Nurburgring GP in just over 8 seconds now have to beat their cheat time with the exploit fixed so they never will and are effectively excluded from the leader boards. The truly good drivers just need to shave a thousandth off their previous best. Seems like a good solution to me.

I think everyone is not understanding what I am saying...

Maybe so but what about tiny little sectors... something that takes 10 seconds to complete. Especially the first few in driving school that are just driving and stopping. I ran those so many times to make sure I was #1 on my friends list and now they’re virtually impossible for me to beat and I have a blank score on my friends list for life now...

It genuinely amazes me that people just comment and say who cares... for those that put hours upon hours of effort into the leaderboards. It’s not as easy as just doing it again and beating your old score.

Looks like a bug to me. Whatever recent time you post should be updated
 
I noticed the same issue going from beta to release, in the beta I did the available challenges yo get gold and had to redo them on the games release.
I really don't think people care too much about leader boards on things that can be repeated hundreds of times, your friends probably know that you spent an hour to beat a time they did just to get gold and moved onto the next challenge for example. Its not whos fastest/most skilled, but whos the most anal with the most time to spend.
If you want glory for leader boards, then Dirt Rally is the game for you, daily weekly and monthly events - you get one shot at it, if you wreck your car its over. Now those are leader boards that are respected by people.

If you think getting on the Leaderboards is not skill based you’re sadly mistaken... also my friends and I compete for the top spot it goes back and forth and that’s how you improve in this game. Now I’m going in blind... it’s a joke.
 
I'm not knocking you and your friend, I'm just pointing out that those leaderboards don't represent skill, maintaining a pace without errors over a long race where you are forcing/being forced to take different racing lines represents skill.
I'm guessing you and your friend aren't able to race each other online due to having different free time schedules.
At least you and your friend have the same issue with the leaderboard times to compete over.

Running sectors a lap trials repeatedly is how you become consistent for the races. I have done 233 Daily Races thus far and I have 115 Wins that I attribute to skills acquired from the persistence and drive to improve times, lines, entries, exits, ect... in Campaign. Without being able to compare and save these scores with friends the drive just isn’t there.

I completly understand and that is silly of p.d. for this to happen. I know the pain of hours practice on a single sector and feel for you. Im sure they overlooked this and will fix it once brought to their attention. Dont bother smashing them times out until its fixed, then you can take back your position #1 but the pain of losing #1 would be crushing to say the least. Good luck!
 
Perhaps one solution is to bring back the friends leaderboard but colour them differently so that you know it's a pre-update time and if you do better the old time, then it will be uncoloured. Seeing this update has made the driving a little quicker than before, maybe it won't be so difficult to beat your previous best time. It's whether you can be bothered to redo the licences/missions.

Driving overall feels quicker, but not faster of more easy.. breaking feels weird.. no feeling anymore so i'm losing a lot of time over that... So i think it will be difficult to beat your previous time..

There is definately a difference in how the car handles under braking.
 
I understand what you're saying OP. That definitely sounds really frustrating. Bit of a bug on GTs part. At least you'll earn a lot of mileage pts trying to beat yourself! Best of luck

It will be OK, just a game. It does not really matter about posting the times. Just show everyone how fast you are in races on the track. That's the only place it matters anyway. I agree though they should have left the old times in place.
