Woot, 515 bucks...at least it should look good as new when it's done!
1969 BMW 2002
i bought this car last year. it was a race car and is still in race car guise, but missing an engine since the one it came with overheated.
* finish engine swap. (halfway done. engine is in car, but not completely. accessories, accelerator, coolant, wiring etc not done yet.)
* install handbrake. (missing cables)
* fit new wheels and tires (wheels and tires already purchased. waiting to compete work before i put em on. dont want to come home and find the car on bricks.)
* repair/ install window mechanism in passenger door.
* fab a new center console with switches for auxilliary lighting, cutoff switches for ignition, fuel, master power.
* install sturdier seat rails. has fixed- back race seats currently installed on flimsy seat rails.
* install seatbelts
* purchase and install foglights
* make a new wiring harness including relays for horn, wipers, lights, aux lighting.
* upgrade windshield wiper regulator to 3 speed model from 76
* upgrade switches to later ones from the 76
* swap exhaust from the 76 to the 69 (the 69 was originally a race car and is loud!!)
* upgrade radiator to a curt ingraham radiator.
PIPE DREAMS
* install 5 speed over drive transmission from E21 320i
* install megasquirt conversion for fuel injection.
** fabricate said megasquirt injection to appear like dual sidedraft carburettors (i will nut if i can get this done!)
* paint in original polaris silver
** with BMW motorsport trim/ striping.
* fix rust and dents (yeah right!!!!!!!)
* dynamat/ soundproof the damn thing. its loud as hell.
what plans do you have for your vehicle(s) in the future, whether it be in a few days, months, or even years?
