Nice pics. I really like them and my favorite is the Alfa set. I also really like the one picture specials. You should do more of them. And the Audi pics looks sick. 👍 :)

That Audi is friggin fantastic:crazy: How do you get that car so clean and smooth,, those rims stand out,,, and the blurring is fantastic:tup: Fantastic lighting too,, How do you do that?
 You made me happy:)👍

Niels
Thanks!

Yeah I've been there too, just waiting to post up your pictures and see the comment:p
When shooting pictures, dont be affraid to use weard-looking-angles, as long as it looks interesting, and you show an editing style or a photo composition style that is unique and attracts attention, you're all settled.
Trying to achieve it with editing AND composition is best, so composition ( how you take a picture, at wich angle and stuff) is half the work:)

If you start making pictures, try to start immediatly with photoshop or any other image editing programm. If you have photoshop like I do, go to image-->adjustments-->levels. Offcourse if you use photoshop for the first time it looks complicated, and all the black bars stuff and numbers you dont know anything of...
Well only thing I know, is that you just need to move the white, gray and the black tiney triangles at the bottom. If you do it well you can get pretty far with levels alone. It's pretty simple.

Remember photoshop doesn't have any sort of selfdestruct button:dopey: Some things just look more complicated than others, and I dont even use the real complicated stuff. Mess around a bit, and if you find a cool effect, try to think how you could use it in a subtle way. Sure, you can alter images till they're completely different, but if you want to be good you must be modest;)

I just type these things automatically once I see someone's new, lol.

So if you get an USB drive, I hope this is usefull:)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For when you are a bit familiar with photoshop, I generally start with a picture from GT4:

-Go to photoshop go to "file-->open...", go to "My Computer" and go to your "removable disk". Make sure you got you're USB plugged in offcourse:lol: Then go to the GT4 folder, and open up your picture.

-Go to image--> Zoom in twice, cause photoshop will automatically zoom out twice. If you zoom in again you will see how the real pic will show up, including how large it will appear on the screen once uploaded and stuff. It's far too big, yes. Go to image size and type in at "width:", 600 pixels size. The length will automatically change to 450 or something like it. See, thats better isn't it;) You can also choose for 800 pixels as width or something like it. With 600*450 it should be exactly the size as it was when you first opened the pic, even before you began to zoom in.
Like this:

-Get the colors right, wich means:
*Get the gradient type "foreground to transparant* in the bar to the left, and add some white gradient at 15% opacity in the background and foreground parts of the picture, going from one corner tip to the middle usually.
Like this:

*Either go to image-->adjustments-->contrast and brightness, and set brightness up with...usually 35.
Like this:

*Or go to image-->adjustmens-->levels first, drag the white triangle a bit to the left, and the gray a bit to the left, the black one a tiney tiney bit to the right, and THEN go to contrast and brightness, or the other way around offcourse.
Like this:

*And then my taste kicks in and I add a "new layer via copy". Then I go to image-->adjustments-->hue/saturation. Then I drag saturation to almost black and white. Then I take the erase tool and erase the desaturated layer from the car so the car still appears in color. Or just erase some of the background. It's your choice, if alot of black and white is in the picture, the picture usually needs much more contrast afterwards. Then go to Layer-->Flatten to make one layer of all the layers again
Like this:

-THEN the texture adjusting. Cleanup, blur and sharpening, meaning:
*On the left, in the tool bar, there's one option on wich you can hold down your mouse button, and select a waterdrop, it's the blur tool (for those who're totally new;) ), now go up and change the brush size to 4 pixels, set opacity to 40% or something. Look for rough egdes, once spotted, go to the spot and zoom in twice, now go over the little black borderlines to smoothen them out. Rough edges will disappear this way. This is a clean up method I use in every picture I photoshop. Zoom twice out again to get to normal view again, and keep doing this. Dont overblur things, there's a limit where, once you exceed it, you stop blurring ugly parts and start blurring out important details, wich is wrong.
Headlights for example are very sensitive for overblurring.
Like this:

*Then for some background blur go to 440's Charger's tutorial wich also helped me alot at learning sophisticating blurring today:tup:

*After the second texture step, I have often overblurred it and dont like the look of it, I go to filter-->sharpen and just select the first normal "sharpen" option. If you dont like that because it oversharpened...well it's your call, it kinda depends on the circumstances too.

Hope it helped:tup::) PS The pictures havent been taken in the order in wich I typed everything, thats why the blur example ^above^ isn't with less saturation yet.
With this base picture, I eventually made this:

Succes!!

I thank you soo much for the tips and screen shots of what you were talking about. Once I saw the first screen shot of the car, I automatically clued in as to the program you guys are using. I'm almost familiar with the program from a show called " Call for Help " on a channel called G4Tech TV, watch it all the time.

Anyway, back on topic...The end result pic looks very awesome. When I firsted visited the photo gallery here at GTP, I had mistakenly assumed that people were using the GT4 game photomode to make these interesting pics and effects and stuff, until reading further you used the Photoshop program. Slightly off topic, noticed you have msn msger on yuor pc too, lol :)...I'm online right now.

Once I start uploading my pics on this pc ( which is not mine. I don't have a pc yet ) I'll post my pics of my cars without the use of photoshop to see what they would look like without editing then I'll find the program online, for free I hope, and download and install and start experimenting with the pics. Unfortunately, for now, I'm the only one who can enjoy some of the pics I've taken from any PS2 system I play on. In the very near future ( hopefully this weekend ) people will get to see the pics of every single car I own in my garage and my cars for the whole world to see.

PS = if you are online right now here at GTP, pm me if you would like my msn email to chat or whatever.

But thank-you so much for the tips. I look forward to putting them to the test.

Keep those pics coming....

PSS = I'd like to make one request for a pic. The 2000 Mustang SVT...I'll let you pick the effect(s) and location(s) for the car. thanks in advance

keep up the great with your pics too, looking forward to seeing more

Hehe well dont worry if you can't put these tips to use immediatly, it wouldn't be such a waste of effort for me cause I was thinking about making a little tutorial sometimes anyway;)

Maybe if you ask around a bit, to your friends and relatives (I don't know), you find someone who has photoshop CS or something. It's a very well known programm and alot of people have a copy of it, legal but most of the times illegal too. But just ask for a copy and if you're lucky you can install it without a problem:) It's not allowed to talk about anything illegal though, so I'll shut p now lol.

My MSN is niels3333@hotmail.com, add me if you want:)
Thanks for all the comment!

Deathwish:
These pictures look very clean mostly because of the motion blur. I will direct you to 440 charger's blur motion tutorial once more. The way he uses his motion blur allows you to perfectly seperate the car from the background blur , as smooth as possible.
The lighting, it's just a little effect I use. I just get my original picture, do some basic contrast first and a bit of levels but not too much of it yet (you'll need to be "allowed" to do it again afterwards). Then once you did that get some orange gradient at 12% opacity and gradient the sky a bit if the sky is white, then gradient the area of the road below the car. If you add more contrast and do a bit more with the levels it will come out very nice. You will have very bright skies, with a little orange glow surrounding the bright sky. The road will look kinda black, orange too. It's pretty simple:)

And thanks Vonie:)

As Requested: Mustang Cobra SVT

Though I normally don't do requests, you can gimme some ideas if you want:)

👍 Very nice pic man! Don't see to many drifting blurs around here, but that one is cool. Keep 'em coming! :dopey:

Thanks:tup: Already wondered why I only got one reply on the mustang:scared:
And no prob, dahze_dichriste:)

I,m liking the Mustang, on the back window it looks like some type of evil ghost is hanging onto it.

Thank you very much for the posting the Mustang....very awesome pic...the best pic I've seen of that car yet. It is very realistic and very nice to see. I like how you captured the car in motion, too. I hope my Mustang turns out that good this weekend for me....

But I'm really loving this pic...hope to see more from your garage, too...

On a scale of 1-10, I give the mustang a 10...but thats my opinion... 👍

Great work and keep those pics coming :) 👍

Anyway I gotta get back to work...I'll be online this weekend and maybe you can gimme some pointers for pics of cars and stuff...My gallery should be up and running this weekend... ( here's hoping :nervous: :scared: )

Edit = I have a question about getting pictures with backfire in it to show up. When I take a picture of my car backfiring, I see the backfire in the thumbnail in my photoalbum in my Garage on the PS2, but when I see the picture in full screen on my TV the backfire isn't there....any thoughts as to what happened to the backfire and why it shows in the thumbnail but not the full screen pic?

Hehe TVR it's just the background, some pilar kind of thing I guess. Thanks though:)

Ermac: thanks!:dopey: I don't know what happened to your picture:irked: I don't like the backfire pics much anyway so I wouldn't care too much about it. It looks nice ingame but they tend to look very repetative once you have seen 5 backfire pics.
My only guess is look in the background at the spot where the backfire should be, and look if there's something that could be mistaken for backfire if you resize the picture to very small. Otherwise it's just an error I have never seen before:confused:

Woot Niels that Mustang is fantastic,, Well I was just photoshopping a little the other day,, and now I know what you mean with your little tutorial,, so my update after this update will be one pic the way you do it I guess,,
Fantastic work once more:cheers:

5 stars pic of the Mustang. Great job with Photshop!! Bring more quality pics, I want to see more from U!!

Haha the day just started for me, so maybe later today;) Thanks again, I'm enjoying the comment very much:dopey:

I took anothe picture today, the original looked fairly well but I couldn't get anywhere with it. I was stuck so this is the picture I finally came up with, and to be honest it's a disappointment:

It's not an update, but just for anyone around here that wants to learn the same lesson as I did, you need a good base picture to get a good final result. If the original doesn't have good base colors, but has ugly colors, you can try to make it black and white but it'll never stand out. Plus I think it's tilted too much, looking back.
Work on those original pics is my lesson for today;)

Oh and for anyone that wants to give it a shot too, and might have a completely different photoshop style, here's the original straight from the USB:

Thanks for the feed back Niels. I see your point too, once you seen one backfire pic, you've seen them all. When I get home tonight from work, I"ll just delete the two pics I took of backfire and take another pic in it's place to keep up with the number of pics I currently have.

Wish me luck this weekend too when I start posting my pics. They are over bright on my PS2 right now but thats based on hints and tips everyone else has given out to others just starting out.

Hope you and others enjoy them.

Again great job in this gallery, man... I'm loving the latest update :) 👍

Keep up the good work and keep those pics coming whenever you aren't busy ;)

Niels you really have showen those people who do not want to photoshop or photoedit there images. Like 95% of how well the shots can turn out, when you photoshop or photo edit any shots.

Hi, GT4 drivers
this game give us to make the bigest gallery in the world
but, it's not soo many
see more in: http://vmaisgt.no.sapo.pt/
for now, they are in small, soon as possible the links to 1280px is there
Any mistake here?, sorry i'm Portuguese and my Inglês teacher was not so good to teach
Have fun with GT4 and make good fotos

Wow thanks again. Initially I posted up the Mustang, and there was one response. I thought the pic wasn't nice enough. Then someone bumped it up and I keep getting reactions now lol.

TVR, I don't think I came close to my limit yet. Basically you can learn how to photoshop, what tools there are and stuff like that in no time. But what really is the secret behind GT4 photoshopping, is the style you develop when editing all those pictures.
Look at sejtur for example, he knew photoshop completely at a pretty early stage in his gallery. But the only thing why he became soo freakin good at this, is because he kept changing his style, perfecting it. I kept saying "Ok at this point you won't be able to improve anymore", but he did, just not in the way I thought he would. Thats how Sejtur seperated himself from "the bunch";)

So if you will ever run into a moment where you think: "Gosh what can I learn now, I mean I know photoshop completely, what could I add to my pictures to make them look even better??*looks at his own pictures*?" then the anwser is: nothing, you just need to swap styles;)

Aguia, it's a very nice gallery you linked, but there's a high chance that this belongs to "promoting" or "advertising", and that's not allowed in these forums, sorry.
Nice start though!

And yet again I learn from Niels:D,, About the pic,, it doesn't look good,, as you said,, I will not try to photoshop that pic,, cause it's a really hard pic to do,, Oh well,, lookin forward to your next real! update:)

Yeah Niels,, I promised to check your update,, and I;m very glad I did,, Fantastic:drool:,, On the first pic,, the lighting is fantastic,, awesome work on that one,, I was thinking,, wouldn't it look better with a bit of noise on only the road?,, I'm just curious about that,, Oh well first is an awesome shot mate:drool:
But the 2nd is top notch:drool: That is justawesome:crazy: The way you blurred that one is fantastic,, I just love the sky on that pic:),, Fantastic work,, and best of this update In my opnion,,
I like the 3th shot too,, but it's not coming near those other two,, The headlights of the car look really good,, and I think it's nice what you did with the angle,, but I think it would look better showing just a bit more of the car,, And again,, Awesine reflections:tup:
Again an Awesome update mate,, keep em coming:dopey:
