Hi

I seem to have a problem with my Brake pedal; according to the dials on the in game screen the brake pedal is sticking.

How do i fix this and are there any guides on here?

Thanks

Open up the pedals by removing the screws on the bottom of the pedals. Then turn it around and remove the cover plate.
Under the brake pedal there is a potentiometer that is probably dirty.
Clean this potentiometer by spraying a bit of plastic friendly contact cleaner into the holes on the side of the housing of the potentiometer. Move the pedal a bit, let it dry according to the instructions of the contact cleaner used. Then move the pedals more. Hook up the pedals to the wheel to see if the brake is fine now. If not repeat the process. If it is, put on the cover again (be careful not to crush any cables) and screw it back up tight.

I recommend using Contact Cleaner 390:

Thanks buddy; will give it a try soon

If by sticking you mean they are always slightly ON(Applied)even if are not using them then it is just a Simple fix which I can explain by PM.

Hey Guys Sorry I'll Explain it here.

Simple Fix Just Press the brake Pedal as hard as you can till you reach Max Load and Suddenly release it (You will here a thump sound)Any more questions send me VM.

Does this simply mean the potentiometer got loose by any chance and moved slightly? Or what is the thump sound originating from?

Nah the thump sound is just the sound you hear when you suddenly release the load,I have no idea what was the Problem that caused it but when you suddenly release it I am guessing that re adjusts the Spring in the Pedal.

If its a spring that's stuck there should be a visible offset from the other pedals, as all should be at the same angle in resting position. Especially if it causes a noticeable hang in the driver's settings&testing menu.
Odd anyway, if it happens to my G25 pedals I'll be sure to take a closer look.

I have also heard that if you open the pedals up; you can turn the potentoimeter around and hold it in place with a non conductive material so all three potentiometers are facing the right way, is ths right?

Tried it just now and guess what......ITS FIXED, Thank you very much!!

I've been having this issue for a while... Reconnecting the G25 and recalibrating would fix it, only to get it back later. I tried cleaning, I tried adding pressure to the spring by inserting a washer but nothing.

Then today, I disassembled it again and found that the potentiometers have a little bit of slack and can move on it's axle. Which explains the solution of suddenly releasing the brake. It shakes it into place.

Here's the video of how I identified the issue, and even managed to reproduce it on the accelerator as well:

So I ended up finding a small bit of slim plastic that I inserted into a hole in the pedal frame on top of the potentiometer, twisted around it and down, and that did the trick. It's not budging now!

(sorry for the bad photo, it's from the video. But I'm not gonna disassemble it all again now :) )

Thanks for that; i have fixed the issue by pressing and releasing the brake pedal quickly (sems4arsenal method). if the problem arises again i will try this method. Thank you anyway.

Do you know if this applies to G27 pedals as well? There is no problem with mine is just that, I dont know if the potentiometers are the same as the G25 pedals... which I highly doubt.

BTW thanks for making the video 👍

Pedals are the same mate.
Actually the G27 throttle is slightly out of sync mounting wise to aid heel and toe.

Mechanically they are the same.

Thanks Spagetti69 :)

G27 on the right, G25 on the left.
Reference pictures for those who need it of what Spagetti69 means about "out of sync mounting wise to aid heel and toe."

You're welcome.

Once it starts happening, it's my experience that it becomes recurrent until it's almost always happening.

Hope my experience helps and just remember not to use anything too "invasive". You wouldn't want anything to get loose inside there and braking a wire or one of the gearings.
