Hey guys dont know if any one els seen that the clutch is not working in the Demo

H shiffter works well .. but NO clutch suport ??? .. or am i missing somthing ?

the normal triangle setup does not work and i have tried everything :( .. i always drive with the clutch ... it just feels better .. now have to resort to padles :( NOT cool .

On the bright side .. the Demo is freaken EPIC !! no other word to describe it .. the feel of the car, tyre sqweel (somthing PD never got right ) is all just perfect !!

Grafix is stuning and sound is awesome !!!

all and all i give it a 9.8 ( no clutch) !!! Well done PD

Tyre squeal is perfect?! On the normal car the tyres sqeal at ridiculously slow speeds. They could never get it right before, and still haven't.

Still, one mans trash is another mans gold, right?

the clutch is disabled so that people without a clutch wheel or using a pad get equal opportunity to post fast laps.

and @ tokyodrift
I thought you were going to get Forza 3.. why are you still here?

No clutch is a good idea for the comp, the full game will have it I'm sure 👍

Yet another trolling post 👎 Maybe the stores with the xbox forza combo arn't open atm :p

I think its great that they disabled the clutch. 👍 Its fair. I would have liked to had the feature, but its alright.

I agree with no clutch for the time trials, but it must return in GT5!

NO CLUTCH!!! :guilty: :indiff:
Yes, we've noticed. And you've said already. 💡

There is no clutch so as to give users an equal chance no matter their control method. This is for a competition, you know.

Yea but it ruins the feel. I don't care about this competition or anything, plus if it's a competition the people who go for it should be able to choose if they do automatic, manual and manual with clutch. Afterall, I thought this was the real driving simulator...

Am I wrong?

Yes you are wrong. It is the GT Academy TT powered by GT. That's all.

Allowing the use of the clutch allows those who use a wheel with a clutch to go faster than those without, making it unfair on the rest of the competition.

Well people would have a choice, right?

So much for the real driving simulator.

What do you not understand here. This isn't the real driving simulator, it's gt academy Time Trial....a competition.

I guess the real question is: Do the cars that the winners will be driving in GT academy have a clutch? If so then maybe they should be trying to get people who are good with a clutch rather than try to be fair. If the cars they will be racing don't have a clutch then it wouldn't make sense to enable the clutch on the demo. Just something to think about.

1st, the clutch on the g25 feels nothing like a real clutch. Using a clutch in this demo and a clutch in real life is 2 completely different things.

2nd, maybe the best "real" clutch users don't have a g25?

I was wondering that too. If its not allowed in the demo I guess they can't scold them for smoking the clutch like they did at the first acadamy :dopey:

no it doesn't feel like a real clutch but it is better than nothing.

If they are that dedicated to winning, then maybe they should (or fanatec or G27)?

Not everyone has 300$ or more to spend for a competition.

No but if they are trying to find the best drivers to represent GT then maybe they shouldn't be aiming for "fair". Not everyone can afford a wheel either. Maybe they should ban wheels?

Lol with you it's really all or nothing isn't it.

??????? What is that supposed to mean. All I did is suggest that there might be another way to look at this. Your the one having problems with it.

I'm not..it wasn't an insult, just joking around..sorry if it sounded like an insult..really. Maybe it's because I'm french and I translated something we say a lot??

emm. does't 370Z have paddle shift ? i mean like gtr like f430 there is no cluth because thereisn't any in real life ...

I don't get how disabling the clutch is giving the controller drivers an advantage...if anything it would give people with a g25/27 a disadvantage especially since GT doesnt allow you to flat shift (which is stupid in my opinion)

Wait hold on guys, I figured it out. The Gran Turismo 5 demo is not a real driving simulator...it's just an arcade racer for a competition.

The funny thing is you can shift pretty much all cars without the clutch in real life. Dog boxes as used in race cars specifically, but you can do it with synchro boxes too.

If anything, forcing the use of the clutch, a la GT5 Prologue, was incorrect.

i have to say i'm pretty peeved that they clutch wasn't functioning, although i still use it and heal-toe (just out of comfort for myself). Because gt5p doesn't allow flat/power-shifting doesn't make a lot of sense to disable the clutch in the competition/time-trial. :dunce: Either way i was enjoying learning the new track and will put some more time into it, although i'm not even eligible for the GT academy. :indiff:

Hold on. That means that if GT5 is going to have a leader board, there will be no clutch. :nervous::grumpy:

 That is what people already said in the first page
