Does anyone know if GT5 will be compatible with the G25's clutch? I still use the clutch when playing GT5P (mainly muscle memory) but really want GT5 to be clutch compatible

You can use the clutch properly in GT5P if you wish (not just muscle memory), top button that would be triangle enables the clutch during the race.

We don't really know anything about GT5.

Man i hope they sort out the 'snap change'/ 'power shift' feature. I was watching the number 1 ranked replay for a Z06 on Fuji gt and it was done with power shifting - it sounds so much more urgent !

They already did, you once was able to flatshift/powershift all day long, now you have to lift throttle otherwise it goes to neutral. Problem is with the way GT has done it you also can't shift during wheelspin unless you wait until the wheels stop spinning, which makes it hard in drifting, I hope they fix that.

If you mean quickshifting (lifting throttle but doing a fast shift) then removing that is hardly realistic, you want clutch users to granny shift all day long?

I´am the first on Fuji GT with the Corvette Z06. believe me, its a kind of hard work to do that. i shift always with heel/toe technique. it´s really hard to do that m8.
The real powershifting, without lifting throttle ain´t possible since the august update :). now, you have to lift your throttle.

watch at that. here you can see how i drive :). btw, i´ve tried to drive fuji gt without the clutch. i´am by a 1 1/2 tenths slower as with clutch.

Great lap Oberst! i know you used heel & toe while downshifting, but did you use 'power shifting ' for upchanges? It certainly sounds like it.

@Vipergtsr01, i think there might be a misunderstanding. i want to able to upchange while keeping my foot flat on the throttle - we call it 'snap shifting ' in S.A.
Some use the term 'power shifting ' on this forum. Since the August update its not possible. I want it back.

@ African Kat

No, i always lift my throttle by every upchange. look at the throttle angle while i shift up :D. if i would try to shift without throttle lift, it gets into Neutral.

Wow! It sounds amazingly quick. I have your replay saved- i'm gonna check it out now and check the throttle angle:sly:

Have'nt seen the Youtube video, can't view it here. Post the link and i'll check it out.

Seen the replay and you're right about the throttle angle. I'm gonna start using the clutch again - it seems heel and toeing drops lap times noticeably. I'm about 30 something on the ranking - hoping to come closer to your time! :sly:

I recently got my G25 and was a bit annoyed when I occasionally "missed shifted" and didn't understand why it dropped into neutral? Didn't realize you had to let off the gas while shifting. really good info and this is the first I have heard of this issue. Will go back and try again as I retreated back to using the paddle shifter. I guess it was not to big of an issue for me since I drive a stick shift, I don't power shift in my car (well sometimes) :sly:

Oberst, I watched your video and WOW that is amazing driving. I may have to try the heel/toe technique afterall. Its really nice to see all three angles playing to see how your movements translate to the car going around the track.

Oh you want it back, thats different (In my area we call it flat shifting). I also want it back but KY was already asked about it and he said it was 'unrealistic'. Well I would like make it realistic, if you keep doing it you should have the risk of breaking the gearbox. :)

I do hope for mechanic damage.

As it is not you can still shift fast enough with lifting the throttle and it also seems like a flat shift, as you can see from Oberst Struppi's replay.

Heel toeing I find less important in GT5P but I do it anyway, it's actually a habit.

Fixed ;)

By the way.. how do you enable HQ?

@NoxNoctis Umbra

HQ enabled automatically. my video resolution is 640x480 (*.AVI).

i think it depends on the resolution. is it higher than 480x320 or smth, it faces automatically HQ. but i dunno exactly.

This may be a stupid question for some of you pro's but what do you use the heel/toe technique for? is it to prevent locking of the rear wheels due to fast shifting? I would seriously like to put my g25 to a better use.. now i just use the f1 shifting. awesome driving by the way:)

Yep, heel/toe is used to match the revs with the upcoming gear, which prevents the rear wheels locking under breaking and downshifting. It's pretty much obligatory if you're racing in a car with manual transmission.

Nice video. I use exact same technique for downshifting 👍

I'm just curious why is your right leg so twitching under acceleration? The heel is so funny moving to the right :)
