Hey there!

I've got my g25 a few days ago and today I finally tried it. Unfortunately i have problems with it.

1 - After I start up the system the calibration process ends up in a loud and endless vibration. It wont stop unless I grab the wheel hard. (see the video please)
I havent seen any calibration videos on the net so I dont know if its normal, but I dont think so.

2 - In GT5 the wheel is going crazy in the straights and even if the car is stopped. Please see the video for further understanding:

Any ideas?

ps: I have the latest update of my ps3 and gt5. I've tried turning off the dualshock3, not helped. Tried to plug the adapter in other outlet, not helped. Tried to plug the wheel in other usb, not helped.

Hi,

Disassembling the wheel!

Here are some pic that might help:

Remove black cover

Tighten these four screws

I hope these help :)

Hi Kenny.
For your first problem I can't give a deffinitive answer, but as you said it's not a big deal I'll move to your second problem.

Wheel shake/wobble on the straights on GT5 is GT5's problem, not your wheel's problem.
It happens with every wheel apart from Fanatec (GT3, GT2, CSR, CSRE) and Thrustmaster (T500RS).
You can't fix that, since it's not a wheel problem, just turn the FFB down and get used to it.

Here's my thread with my experience with G25: https://www.gtplanet.net:80/forum/showthread.php?p=5949564

Thanks Guys!

Energizerrr:
I dont think this is normal. I havent seen any videos on youtube with g25 where the wheel is wobbling left to right in straights and even with a standing car. Mine has probably an issue. I just want to find out what it is exactly.

I have a simple question for everyone: When you plug in the g25 and start your system, what is exactly the calibration process? For me the wheel turns all the way to the right , then all the way to the left, then goes back to center, and then it starts shaking like crazy, and it wont stop shaking unless I grab it hard. Is it the same to you?

No it shouldn't shake on calibration mate.
Energizerr is right in saying GT5 does this too wheels.

If it happens on calibration it's the wheel however. Do you have any other racing game to check this out with?

No unfortunately I have GT5 only. I bought ps3 for this game only :)

Shame. But if it's doing this without GT5 booted up then there is a problem somewhere mate.

Unfortunately GT5 is inherent with this issue.
Mostly on high power cars X1, FGT etc.
The lower power cars should react a lot better. I have not played it in a while though and may be wrong if recent patches have addressed this.

Also stay away from rallying, the FF is a wheel killer. Unless FF can be adjusted. It used to be a fixed value, that may have changed after patching also.

Good luck.

Energizerr:I think this is more of a problem with his wheel, yes it does cause the shaking in gt5 but his shking on his g25 looks waaayyy too violent to just be the game at play.

If you have a pc try plugging it in to see if its the wheel. As it will calibrate on the pc to test.

Shaking as in vibration or shaking as in wobblyness?
I think his vibration motor needs checking but that's about it, FFB motor is fine.

Energizerrr:
Please see the video in first post. That will explain everything.

Its a hardware issue, clearly.

Have you tried the wheel on a PC? Just to see if the wheel shakes. Also you could try downloading a "demo game" to see what the wheel does in it, most demo's don't fully use the wheel but you might be able to tell if other games are doing the same thing. Try lowering the FFB in the options menu.

Yes it's a hardware issue mate.
Not sure if you bought it new(I suspect it's not as it's a G25 series). If it is it will be replaced no problem.

If its not I suspect someone would be able to give a bit more info. There's some clever people around here.

Feel gutted for you mate.

Actually the start up you showed on video, is how my G27 reacts in rally mode in GT5.
Worth staying away from.

I don't know if you're reffering to the shaking or the vibration...
Shaking in GT5 is normal, just use a low FFB setting (1-3) and you'll get used to it.

Well, problem is more or less solved. I sent it back to the guy from whom I bought it and got my money back.

Now I ordered a brand new G27. Whoa :)
