I just got a ps3 and gt5. (I know it's been awhile but I'm tight lol.)

Anyway I want to buy a racing wheel and really want the g27 for the clutch but is it worth the extra money?

The four extra buttons on the steering wheel are worth the extra money. I don't even use the clutch and shifter.

Yes.
After having them all, it is worth the extra money. I've had the G27 awhile now, and love it. Although I have been looking at the CSR Elite pretty hard lately.

If money has been tight then these wheels are not for you.

If you're unsure go with a DFGT, they're fairly cheap these days(and its an official Gran Turismo wheel) and with the exception of the pedals, it's a superb wheel. I just upgraded to a G27 and I notice a big difference, that being said, if you're unsure DFGT. If you plan on playing GT5 a lot and getting your moneys worth, G27. Just my 2 cents.

Yes it is worth it GT5 is so much more fun to me now, and i love using the h-shifter and the clutch

It should also be noted that if you have any intention of getting into a PC based sim like iRacing the G27 is also an excellent option.

You could've saved over a hundred dollars by buying a DFGT if you don't even use the clutch and shifter.

Back on topic, yes, it's worth it. The G27 is awesome, as long as you don't mind giving up a sequential shifter and really loud noises when turning your wheel that come with the G25.

I actually prefer the feel of the G25 wheel, but I'm probably in the minority. They are both good wheels though (until the potentiometers in the pedals start to flog out).

The logitech G27 is a good wheel I have it and I just got my CSR wheel yesterday is a really nice wheel. If you in a budget and could spend $240+ for G27 I say go for it. Newegg has it for 239.99 now.

Can you even find a G25?

Even though I rarely use the manual 6 speed shifter, much prefer using the paddle shifter, the G27 is a vast improvement over the G25. If you can afford it I'd say get the G27 but if money is tight then just get the Logitech DFGT.

I don't believe that was an option when I purchased my G27. I've had it for years now.

....and to turn this post to an on topic one...

My G27 has endured years of use and it still functions like new. The material they used to cover the wheel show no signs of wear. It was money well spent; I've certainly got my money's worth.

At the time my alternatives were Fanatec wheels, which I hear are fantastic as long as you can deal with (at the time) spotty reliability and poor customer service.

I started using the shifter last night.

I feel like I've been missing out. It's more fun than I thought it would be, at least in the cars that aren't over 600 PP.

The G25 actually cost more nowadays since it has the sequential. Get the G27 because its better and if your like me dont use the sequential shift and uses paddle shifters. and G27 cheaper too.
