How do the pedals feel on the G25?
In oppose to the others, like the Logitecs and Madcats, which to me felt like a piece of plastic with a simple spring barely creating any resistance.

Edit: I'm currently reading some really impressive things about the GT5.
Mainly the realism of the gated H shifter and actually being able to change the stick shaft if its to short for the user.., wow!
Seems like using the stick is as much fun on the G25 as realife.

I have a G25 and before that I had a driving force (the thing with the blue handles) and i have to say that the pedals on G25 fell much more sturdy and planted than the plastic stuff on my older wheel. The pedals resistance is also pretty good though i have never really tried any other wheel nor driven a real car:dopey:. Unfortunatly though i do not have GT5P:(

I've just watched a vid that shows the different resistence each of the pedals have, which I was really impressed by.
Maybe now I can actually slip on my racing shoes and go at it and, not feel like I'm going to break the damn thing :p

Had one of the first G25's in the country, this was when other people were still wondering what the G25 was :D

old, broken DFP here. its more fun than the controller, but from numerous wheel first dives to the floor, there is a huge dead spot. also, it seems my gas pedal is sticking. not externally but internally. there is always throttle being applied. and almost always in more amounts than i would like for cornering. staying straight is a problem and with the huge deadzone, it makes applying correct countersteer nearly impossible.

i will be getting a g25...maybe

the g25 has great pedals, better then the rest, allthough I do think that the gas pedal could have a little bit more resistance, it's tricky with TC off.

G25 FTW :)

I`ve got a G25 aswell,my DFP`s pedals finally gave up & i couldn`t fix them anymore. My G/F bought me a new one from ebay $270 delivered, for my b/day. And yeah that certainly looks like a VK seat for sure,i might make a similar setup for myself actually....much to my G/F`s horror i think :scared:

I notice you've been asking this question for some time now. GET THE G25 already! The pedals are far superior to the DFP - steel, heavier, more "modulated", stronger (take a look at santis photos on the previous page on this thread 👍). The wheel wheel is leather-wrapped: may not sound like a big deal, but the rubber on the DFP is quite unpleasant (not sure about the DFGT). The H-shifter is the weakest part of the set-up, but after getting used to it, I find it not too bad & much more interesting to use than the DFP's sequential shifter.

Personally I have a small (19") HDTV (that I also use to travel with) set up permanently with the G25 - I would rather use that (positioned just behind my wheel) than use my big TV in the living room & have to constantly set-up & take down my wheel. I feel a 22" - 26" set up directly behind the wheel is ideal - I don't see any advantage to a bigger screen further away.

I do see the advantage of a 3 screen set-up though! ;)

Bought a G25 when GT5p came out, and never looked back :)
This is my first wheel and i know now that i can never play a race sim without one anymore...:D

that triple screen setup is really sweet.

dude, are you ****ing me?? THAT'S FREAKING INSANE:drool:

if you don't mind me asking how long did it take you to build that?

btw, it looks like you have a little display just behind your wheel, does that work too?

It cost me way too much and took me way too long.

That's not a display behind the wheel, its my center speaker from my Z5500's. Thats just in there for right now though..

This will be going in there soon.. It's not my video, i'm just linking it so you can see what i'm getting. They only work for PC racing sims though, Not GT5.

I don't f@#k around :)

I'm yet to become a proud owner of a G25. I've been looking forward to buy one for almost a year. I heard they dropped the price a bit.

lol i can see that you don't;)...but if you go ahead with the dials and stuff...good luck...ive thought about doing it im just too lazy and impatient:p

It will happen 100% for sure, it's just a matter of time.. The company is currently sold out and i'm going to be tearing my cockpit apart and re-building it once I have the welding gear hooked up.

Be afraid, be very afraid. 👍👍

Am I the only G25 owner, that does not use the clutch and H-shifter?

I've only had the wheel for about a week, and im trying to get used to it, but my unsteady "cockpit" ... more like a table... does not hold up when i try to use the clutch + shifter. the pedals start sliding, and my table moves back and fourth. Sequential on the other hand, is easier, cause it just a quick up/down movement, and no clutch. I do however, hope to have a sturdy setup, and force myself to use the clutch + shifter. :indiff:

I have not been using clutch + h-shifiter very much, it's just to much work ( Im a lazy driver :P) and I like to break with my left foot :)

I do like to use the h-shifter without clutch though.

I've got a G25, but I don't have anywhere to clamp the shifter box, so I'm just using two pedals (left foot braking) and the paddles for shifting.

I got G25 for GT5P and I'll never look back!

Don't have a setup where the H-shifter would be viable, yet. Having too much fun playing to waste time on carpentry but I might get there eventually. I think I'll build something myself. I don't fancy this centre strut that seems to be on most playseats and, compared to a couple of bits of mdf and some 2x2, very expensive too, especially for something that looks like it will have a lot more flex.

If I win the lottery I'll commission wtfImNameless to make me one in solid gold :D

I've not any wheel, just pad. In fact I'm a GT player since the first one on 1998 and I've played all 100% with a pad. While the GT4 period I was thinking about buy a wheel but when I was going to buy it, it was out of stock on the shop (it was the DFP) so I forgot the idea.

A few months ago, a friend of mine bough a G25 just for his PC sims and I was a few days playing with it on his house on RFactor, GTR2, Live For Speed, etc., and it was quite good. So a few weeks ago I was thinking if buy a G25 but I'm not sure. I've been looking on shops and I don't find anyone here (I live in a island, on Canary Islands), but a few days ago I saw one on a commercial center at 232€, it's the last one on stock, and if I pay it plus like 35€ or so, I get it with a 5 years guaranty. So I was thinking about it because it could be one of my lastest oportunities.. but unfortunately I don't know how to place it on my room, I've not a proper desktop for it. My uncle have a leather Alfa Romeo 146 seat that could give me maybe but I've not the space for it for a cockpit..

On one hand I thought "c'mon... you've been 10 years playing GT and you know that people with wheel have better times, you could improve...", but on the other hand I say "it's like another Playstation 3 while talking about price.. and I don't play PC sims.. and I dont have more Playstation 3 race games.. so 232€ just for GT5P & GT5?". Hard decission you know.. I'm still without know what to do.

Anyway, after 25th June I'll buy a LINKSYS router to continue playing with you online because since three weeks I stopped playing GT5P online due to it's 60:04000000 errors with my router. Let's see if after the router I buy the G25... I've to think about it.

It's a lot of money, sure. I guess it depends how 'immersive' you want your game. I feel like GT5P cost me £200 (50 for the disc and 150 for the wheel) but it's worth it from my point of view, for the next level of realism.

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here tho. Hell I love Gt's 1-4 with the pad. If that's good enough for you then there's no reason to change.

I feel that they are good with pad but I know they're better with wheel, not only due to the realism & feelings with force feedback but also due to the times... it's a handicap for lap times and onlines. I'm just afraid of the fact of buy a G25 and feel later that I've waste my money because I'm not great with a wheel on GT or not great as necessary on GT to afford a price like that for just 1 or 2 racing games (in fact it's sad because GRID is not a great race game.. so even if I want to buy good games for G25 I really don't know anything.. maybe Ferrari Challenge?, I've to test it before). Anyway I feel that I've spent so many years of my life with GT games... I enjoyed all of them so maybe buy a G25 could be just my tribute & respect to all the effort & hours done in the past and the ones that will be done on the future, just a philosophical point of view maybe... I'll continue thinking on it.

Thanks for your support & point of view mate 👍

OK, the deed is done... tired of getting beaten by the wheel brigade in anything other than the R8 I've just ordered a G25 and wheelstand pro.

Now just got to 1) hope I'm faster with it (to justify the £250 purchase price) and 2) get it past my wife.
