I searched but came up with nothing related to my problems. Has anyone had problems with the game not accepting you are in gear? I will be fully on the clutch off the gas and put it in but the game will not. Also i have had issues with going into gear then a few seconds later the game takes me out even though the shifter is still in. Any one else have similar problems?

I still regularly "miss my shifts" with the G25 - it could be what's happening to you. Even though you think you've got the timing of the clutch right, it's very difficult to be sure, because there's no real mechanical "feedback". And yes, occasionally I shift & then find the gear "pops out" a couple of seconds later.

I undid the shift boot to take a look everything seems fine, i think maybe it is more communication with the game that is the problem. I had thought of getting some washers to make the shift more weighted, but after looking at it today in order to do that i would have to completely take is apart

I've been practicing using the gated shifter and clutch a LOT, and I still miss gears that way. I don't know why it happens, but it is extremely annoying. Hopefully PD will fix it in a future release. Speaking of which, they should also re-think their clutch calibration so it isn't just an on/off switch. Make the clutch mostly useless anyway. When I race online with the gated, I don't turn on the clutch, at least not yet, but I play as if it is in use. It is a lot of fun racing with the gates shifter, even if the clutch isn't really doing anything.

Everyone misses gears from time to time (mis-timing when quick shifting)

It seems that way but it does have a biting zone which you can slip the clutch as you wish, though it is quite small compared to the entire clutch travel so it appears as a on/off switch. I do hope they improve it.

It used to happen to me every time I used the H shifter:censored::mad:. But now I use the paddle shifters, these for me are a lot easier to use, because you have always got to hands on the wheel = more control and also I reckon it is a slighty faster gear change using the paddles:trouble:.

The H shifter is just to damn sloppy, its like stirring porridge .

When you use the paddles in a manual car (eg 350Z as opposed to the F430) it takes longer to shift gears as GT5P uses a 'autoclutch' which engages and disengages the clutch slower than a quick shifter can using the clutch themselves.

I would maybe try some of the Mods available, like "No Clicking" and "shifter resistance".

As dragonistic said, something may have just came loose or disconnected.

I think using the clutch pedal without having the clutch operational is a bad idea. I did that for a couple of weeks when I first got GT5P, because I didn't know how to activate the clutch (:dunce:). When I started using the activated clutch I had all kinds of problems, because I had developed "bad habits" with regard to the clutch timing & pedal travel while it was not activated.

I now use the H-shifter & enjoy it (although I still occasionally shift into the wrong gear if I'm not paying attention :ouch:), but do not generally use the clutch when I'm racing online, since I think it really represents a big handicap.
