Anyone experiencing an issue shifting from 1st to 2nd (using clutch) with a G25 in GT5? It seems I consistently have to double shift 2nd gear with the G25 to get it to engage. I am not forcing it or "Slamming" it, just going from 1st to 2nd and it stays in neutral. I then go from 2nd to neutral back to 2nd and it engages? I did try just tapping the paddle and it goes from 1st to 2nd with no issue. Anyone else experiencing this because at this point I don't think it is the shifter.

EDIT*** The issue is like in GT5P like chrisr1984 suggested: you have to let off the accelerator while in 1st when shifting to 2nd and you are smooth sailing! Thanks chrisr1984!

I was experiencing similar issues to this, but after some laps around the track i notice i just had to get use to shifting it properly rather then rushing it. I still do get some inconsistency like 1 or 2 times it would go into neutral through out 4-5 laps. Try to accurately shift it in place because sometimes the gear stick doesn't fully go into gear two when you assume its in.

when using the g25 with clutch you cant change the gear while the wheels are spinning or dont have traction from 1st -> 2nd.

if you go from 1st -> 2nd very slowly after easing off the accelerator it will work.

this has happened since prologue.

Happens to me on launch as well sometimes. I think I read somewhere on here it's to do with wheelspin, and that you can't change during wheelspin.

I thought I had read this before, I will try and let off the accelerator before shifting and see if this helps. It would be alot easier than double shifting 2nd gear. 👍

For the G25, 1 to 2 seems to be the only shift that I must go 1 to N to 2 - akin to double clutching but only using the clutch once for it to catch on. 2 to 3 I can go immediately without having that split second pause in N.

I have a G27.

On GT5P, I noticed *no* issues with shifting. It just worked.

On GT5, I immediately started missing 1->2 shifts. Sometimes after I miss the shift, I put it back in neutral and back to 2 (with clutch down) and it still doesn't engage. I have to pop it into another gear (back into 1 or 3) and then back to 2 to get it to go.

If I shift *slowly*, with at least some pause in N before going into 2 it works just fine.

I don't have the problem with any other shifts. If it was just a 'fast shifting' problem, I would expect to see the same problem from 3->4, and I don't.

I think this is a software issue, and I'm hoping they fix it. It's definitely drivable as is, but when it does strike (and blows a start) it is really annoying.

I know this changed from GT5P to GT5. I played GT5P all last weekend getting warmed up for release, and then switched to GT5 on release day. Never noticed it with GT5P, noticed it immediately with GT5 to the point where I thought I had a hardware problem at first.

Other than that (and the button remapping issue), the G27 works fine.

I don't think it has anything to do with wheelspin. I think you just need to come completely off the accelerator/gas and have the clutch pushed in properly. GT5P and GT5 just don't want you to ride the clutch. If you shift lazily like that in live for speed you wear out the clutch after 10 laps.

upgrade the flywheel and the revs drop quicker making this issue almost nonexistant

On that point, I suspect that it's different for each car. On some cars (eg premium supra '88) it almost seems like they want you to shift slower, perhaps they're simualting the speed of the gear changes in the real car. I did notice when I upgrade engine response it got easier.
