Ok!
I can get a (slightly) used G25 for a little less than a new Carrera 911.
Yes or no?

I think the short answer IMO is that at those prices, and if you use both kits stock, as they are, then the G25 is the better choice.

The G25 is a good, proven wheel. The build quality is nicer than that of the 911 Carrera. Good, durable pedals, responsive, large paddle shifters, and superior clamping systems for the wheel and shifter. At the price, it seems like a good deal, and you could sell it off and likely make a profit.

The 911 Carrera is more plasticky, and the standard pedals are merely adequate. I've found ways to mount my Fanatec wheels to a desk or table securely, but the mounting rods used to secure the shifter are pretty lousy. All Fanatec wheels have an awesome tuning system that allow you to adjust wheel settings directly in the firmware, which is a pretty huge benefit. If you're planning to spend more money down the line, the ClubSport pedals are an awesome, but expensive upgrade, and they only work with the PS3 via a Fanatec wheel. Those pedals are nice enough that I think they make a bigger difference than wheel choice in the $350 and under price range.

Definitely the G25. The Carrera's shifter is basically the only thing better between the two. The cheapest wheel anyone should consider from Fanatec is the GT3.

The Carrera was made to compete with the DFGT and Thrustmaster's lower-end offerings. Definitely not comparable to the G25.

I disagree, I've got a Carrera and it's a good starter wheel. Because it's so adjustable on the wheel, it does have a significant advantage. The build quality is not the best and they can take a while to arrive, but at this price point it is hard to ignore.

It really depends on if you want a warranty and a brand new wheel, or if the G25 is in as good a condition as you think.

It's like deciding on a car, brand new Alfa 159 or 'slightly' used E46 (old model) BMW 3?

I've owned both, and still have the G25 if that answers your question.

The only thing the Carrera has going for it over the G25 is the shifter. The Fanatec shifter has a much better feel than the sloppy G25. The force feedback is much more responsive than the Carrera especially with the return to center speed. It's so slow to recenter.

Yes the Fanatec has all those tuning abilities...but I found myself spending lots of time with each game tuning those just to get them to feel like a G25 in responsiveness which it never could do.
