G27 Accelerator Problem - Probably not GT5 specific

Sometimes when I press the accelerator pedal nothing happens. A quick lift and repress fixes the problem. Sometimes it takes a couple of times doing the lift and press to get things going again.

I've taken the pedal set apart and cleaned it and that appeared to help a little in that the problem does occur as often but it still happens.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Did you find a solution?

I've searched the Logitech forums and have seen some similar problems but no solutions other than trying a cleanup or buying a whole new G27.

Is there a source for replacement parts for G27s. Logitech doesn't appear to sell replacement parts.
 
I had the same problem 2 days ago. It also gave me problems with the controller. The circle-button would not work. So there where some screens that I could not exit from.
Yesterday I checked the wires and found one that was disconnected under the wheel. I made sure all wires where connected under the wheel and connected the wheel to the PS3 again. I have not had any problems after that.

When I took the pedals apart and cleaned them I unplugged all of the wires to the wheel and reseated the plugs. I disconnect the wheel from the PS3 each time I do a game save or back up the whole PS3 disk. I usually do the game saves once a day.
 
I send an email to the Logitech support email address and got a response within about 8 hours. They suggested the following:

1. Try disconnecting/reconnecting the cables of your G27 Wheel.
2. Try using another USB port on your PS3.
3. Try using a separate power outlet for your G27 Wheel.
4. Try it on different games.
5. Try it on another console if the problem persists.

I had done 1 and 4 in the past and nothing changed. I'm trying 2 now and will try 4 but I really doubt either will make a difference. Same for 5.

Since the accelerator pedal worked just fine for just over 12 months I think its really something wrong with the pedal. Of course the warranty is 12 months.
