And why is it so not fun to race? Been playing with a controller forever, and this isn't fun.. Never driven a car with such terrible force feedback. 2, or 5 settings don't seem any different. And the brake is like a brick. It's good quality and such, but this is just no fun. And don't even get me started about reversing (terrible)!

This isn't like a real car.... Driven supercars on track (Las Vegas) and this just isn't it. Any settings I can make this better?

Had the same thing when I got my DFGT. You just need to use it for a few days or weeks even and it'll get fun! Also make sure you put it at Simulation mode in the options menu in GT and drive without any driving assists except abs at 1 if you prefer.

For the rest, just keep racing with it. You need some time to get used to it if you used a controller for so long.

In the past I played gt1 and gt2 with a controller.
Got myself a wheel for this game, tried a controller lately one more time...I just couldnt handle any car decent anymore...why? I am completely used to a wheel now,it is so much more fun and after a while you dont want to go back ever again.

Maybe it just take some time to getting used to...

I've had no problems moving from controller to wheel whatsoever. But then again I'm using DFGT.

Try changing settings:

wheel settings: simulation
power-assisted steering off
force feedback what ever you prefer.

Don't forget, different game the wheel feels totally different. Try some PC sims to see what the wheel can do.

Damn, I was hooked on the wheel as soon as I began to get used to it. Are you able to lap cleanly? Is it just because you haven't adapted yet, or are you lapping ok and still hating it?

For some reason you need to calibrate the Logitech pedals. When you start an event, depress the pedals completely during the countdown. I don't think it is the wheel that is an issue, I think PD has purposely crippled the competition to the new Thrustmaster wheel.

I've been using wheels for about a decade now. Been using the DFGT for the last couple years and loved it! Got the G27 today for Xmas and it's gonna take a little while to adjust to it. I drive a stick in real life, but I've been left food braking on racing games for so long......well I keep hitting the clutch when I want to brake! Lol. I'm adjusting to it quickly and can't wait till it just becomes natural.

The brake pedal took about ten laps to adjust to because it's so much stiffer, but thats exactly why I wanted it! Once I really get comfortable with it I'll have a lot more control when braking.

To the OP, just keep practicing and eventually it will be awesome! I do think a good rig is a must with this wheel, you do so much moving around that you really need to be comfortable.

This is a sensor related issue in the pedal set itself, not something PD did. You can see the same phenomenon happen in the Windows driver control panel for the pedals from a fresh bootup - it will report the maximum travel so far as the max extent of input, up until it has been fully depressed and returned to start position. The wheel itself auto-calibrates in this way on bootup, but since there's no motor to depress the pedals, it has to be done from the user pressing them down.

Keep at it, it takes some getting used to. When I got my G25 a while back I hated it and initially wanted to return it, but now I can't play any other way.

Like everyone said there is a period of adjustment between the pad and pedal. I've played GT since GT3 with a pad and I got a G25 last year. Initially it killed my control of a car and I would often revert to a pad to have a decent race. Then the academy demo came out and I stuck with the wheel because I could see all the leaders were using one. A month of hammering the challenge and I was no longer aware of using the wheel in the same way a pad used to be an intuitive controller and lap times with a wheel for me are now pretty consistently 2 seconds of so lower.

I'm soon going to completely not touch my controller. I'm getting fairly decent at drifting with my G27 so soon I will never use my controller for racing, only photomode! I don't see how you don't like it. The first hour I used it, I was in love with this wheel! Ya, I wasn't used to the force feedback and all but it's like driving a new car for the first time. Once you spend some time with it, you and the car will become one, it's the same with this wheel! Don't hate the wheel because you aren't used to it, love it because it's one of the best wheels out there! Use it for one day, youll be coming back on the forums saying "I love this amazing wheel! I'm going to make a cockpit for it now!"

Enjoy it!

The irony being that drifting is far easier with a pad than wheel if you set it to use the shoulder triggers for throttle and brake. Easier, but not as much fun.

I'm just saying that I'm having more fun with the wheel. My controller, will soon just collect dust.

Brakes is like a brick? it feels about just right for a normal car.

You should feel my brakes on my autox civic with steel braided lines.

Yea, I got one today as well and I SUCK! I can't pull off a clean lap to save my life. Deep forest, grand valley, suzuka, no where. Have tried several different cars and this force feedback is not realistic in my opinion. Ive driven a e92 m3, an f430, a GT-R, and my wheel never shook going 100+ on a straight like it does in this game. WHY THE EFF DOES MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKE BAVK AND FORTH WHEN GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE? I have settings set as: Simulation, assist off, an FFB setting is all the way down to 1, yet it it is impossible to control a car. And my brakes lock up with a slight tap of it..I'm very displeased. I find it no fun to be driven off the track because my wheel is shaking back and forth uncontrollably. If anyone has answers for THAT I have open ears!

I've tried setting 1, setting 5, and setting 10. They're all the exact same. No matter how tight I grip the wheel it shakes vigorously/violently from side to side. I know there's the dead zone issue if you let go of the wheel it shakes back and forth, but I have a full, tight 10-2 grip and I can't control it.

Your letting the wheel guide you, instead, you must guide the wheel.

Quick Tip: Let off the gas......... car will balance out.

Go back to the beginning, License Tests. You have to relearn how to drive. Once you get used to it, a DS3 will become "weird". Try driving an X1 with a DS3 when you are used to a wheel!

If you turn the ffb down to like 3 or less, you lose all feel fronthe road. The car is nonlinger attached to the road. Leave it at 5 until you learn how to use it. As stated before, YOU must control the wheel and not follow it's lead. Good thing you're not starting with a DFP, that's like playing tug-of-war!

The reverse is pretty accurate as you actually have to put gas and balance the clutch while reversing (much like a real car yeah?).

yeah the back&forth shaking in a straight line is ridiculous and should not happen. I've gone 120 in my Miata and the wheel doesn't do that...wait til you drive 250+mph in the X1 on the Sarthe. That's a major pain in my arms.

Yeah definitely give it some time. I'd say there is a learning curve when you use the wheel for the first time. The biggest decline I noticed initially was drifting but I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and it already feels weird going back to play with a regular controller.

It was a bit of an adjustment period for me. Just try to drift cars for a while after failing at that for a while driving becomes so easy and silky smooth and much more enjoyable :)

Also keep FFB around 6
