I have had my G27 since Christmas and it only recently struck me that there isn't any vibration, there is only force feedback. My question is have i got a setting turned of somewhere in the options or is the wheel just like this on Gran Turismo 5?

Might be your settings, because I still can feel the bumps and whatnot on tracks like Sarthe and Daytona (and its pretty extreme on any dirt tracks).

Force Feedback was throttled back with the new patch.....

You're reading between the lines, it was only updated for the F1 and Red Bull X cars, I've driven everything from a Corvette to a Beetle since update 2.04 and the FFB feels the exact same as before (I have a G27)

Well seems your the only one. Everyone is having this issue with the new 2.04! Maybe you just don't notice it but is there is difference, look at all the other threads.

I think I'd notice, and I'm sorry but I haven't... There's no way I'm the only one.

1 thing that I notice is that when I crashed into the wall or other car, it feels different now, it's as if I hit a marshmallow

I just went and had a go on the Nurburgring, I hit every every rumblestrip, corner marker and concrete patch I could, I went through turns with the tires smoking, and it all felt the same as last time, I think a lot of you read between the lines of PD's update info and automatically assumed it was for all cars anyway so you all just "thought" it seemed different, the only thing I actually noticed different was mentioned in the post above mine, hitting a wall isn't as drastic as before, and honestly that's the only change I've noticed as far as FFB changes, and I'm sorry but I'm sticking with it.

I was doing the WRS TT today and my FFB didn't seem that different, it felt smoother and still had that bite if you hit a curb. If anything it's better IMO.

This post is 100% correct.

I was just using my G27.. all I can say is, the FFB is still there, but it feels like.. I don't know how to explain it.. kind of like it's on Novocaine

Thank you 👍

Btw I use a DFGT, so it may differ slightly on a G27, but, I don't know. Just speculating.

@MOTORTRENDmitch
I'm not to sure what novocaine is or what it does, but I'm guessing it's some sort of pharmaceutical drug. But by what you said does the steering feel smoother but still very much there? Cause I want to try get to the bottom of this. 👍

The DFGT has always had slightly better FFB over the Logitech G wheels in the past..

While it is true that PD stated that they have adjusted the FFB for the forumla cars, they have also adjusted feedback for when you go around banked corners.

So to say that there shouldn't be any FFB changes because it only applies to the forumla cars is false.

I dirty race with a G27 at Daytona in nascars and they have definitely smoothed out the transition "jerk" when you touch the apron or come on and off of it.

I have a g27 no change here but f1 and x10-11.. All my other cars feel the same.... But my buddy.... which has the same wheel and settings as I do.... His g27 feels sloppy and way way different than mine does...after the update its verry odd...almost like a NFS game....! Some seem to have less and others say no change! Humm....odd!

On racing sims on PC you have a slider which allows you to adjust the vibration but it doesn't have it on GT5.

I'll start off with saying I'm very sensitive to ffb changes and I'll feel every change in ffb setting because my style of driving heavily depends on ffb information.
I felt no change, only improvement on banks (which annoyed me in the past).
I always use ffb 10 and I'd feel if it was any different, but it's not.
You guys are most likely experiencing a placebo.

I'm sure it was different, mainly because it didn't jump as much going through a corner as it normally would. But I'm sure I felt a difference.

It felt smoither then before and wasn't as rough unless you hit a curb of elevated edge like that. And in my opinion it made it better, because it was too rough before hand.

after aome thought on ky experience with the update yesterday, this is how I feel about it. It was way too jerky before, and now seems to be a better feel.
