G27 problem?

Hey guys, first time long time. I did a search and was unable to find an answer, sooo.......

I bought a G27 for my PS3 yesterday. I hooked it up as per Logitech's recommendations but I'm having some problems. The wheel is going dead after 2-3 laps in any race within GT5P. It works perfectly and then it loses all tension, goes slack in my hands and becomes completely unresponsive. None of the buttons (4 black, 4 red and cross) on the shifter module work either, before or after it goes dead. The demos for Dirt 2 and NFS: Shift won't even recognize that the wheel is hooked up.

Should I be able to use the buttons on the shifter module to navigate menu screens?

Does this sound like a hardware issue? I.e should I return it and get another.

Thanks

If it's going dead in the middle of the race, than I would say there's a problem with it.

As for Dirt2 & Shift, you have to remember that the PS3 will recognized whatever input device is used first. So when you load the game, make sure you use the buttons on the G27 (Start is the 3rd red button from the left--X is the 'bottom' of the 4 black buttons). If you use these buttons when starting either game it should recognize the wheel.

But as I said, going slack in your hands in the middle of a race is a problem. I would exchange it.

Should work fine on all those games, I have the same games and a G27 and it is fine. Clutch issues with GT5 full game though.

Definately not a game issue IMO.
