I have the same problem, @kanlu. But I don't think the problem referred to in the first link of the OP is related.

From time to time, I have to unplug my G27 from the ps3 and plug it back in so that it will recalibrate itself. I don't think this was happening as frequently or as severely in GT5.

Dude my wheel is no working in gt6.
Yesterday I play one hour gt5 no problem at all.
Just come back to play gt6. one lap the center of the wheel is gone. Unplug-pluggin reset. I have to repeat the reset 7 times in 10 minutes race. No idea

logitech usa say they never try the wheel in gt6. Lab.

Nothing to do with the game, it's a cracked or loose encoder wheel, very common on the G27's. Mine did the same thing in GT5, would calibrate, work fine, but after a vigorous lap, it would be cocked to the side but still function otherwise. Threw the new encoder wheel in, and it works better than ever.

In the mean time, you can pause, unplug the USB, and plug it back in. It'll re-calibrate and re-center, but will lose center pretty quickly.

My Wheel is DFGT and i have other problem: R1/L1 buttons don't work in menus. So, for example when i want to paint the car, i cannot rotate it by these buttons :(
The same buttons work on dualshock...
Weird...

I was having a problem like this in GT5 recently with my CSR Elite, it would drift off center to the right a bit in every race where I had to turn it hard or hit something. After a few races it would be centered at 2:00 or more. Reset the wheel and it would go back to normal. Very annoying. It would do this in Forza 4 if I did any drifting with it but not under normal driving conditions. Thankfully it is not doing it in GT6 and works great.

When active steering is disabled wheel isn't returning to center by default, neither on driving. Is car is moving and you have 0 TOE or negative toe on front it won't return to center, instead if you have positive toe on front it slowly return to center when going forward. Also cambers are counted, behavior anyhow is similar to real car wheel movements.

Self centering is a result of caster geometry - not toe or camber. All cars have some degree of caster and self centering. So, if self centering is not present in the game, such behavior is not similar to 'real car wheel movements'.

R1/L1 also not working here on Fanatec wheel.

Hmm my Fanatec returns to center just fine in GT6, there nothing slow about it feels like the real thing. I can just release grip and let the wheel slide in my hands as I exit a tight corner and the wheel snaps right back. It does so fast enough that in most cases I still need to apply a little resistance to it to keep it from coming back to fast.

Even when i was racing GT5 it was never a problem with the wheel not snapping back to center the problem was that it seemed to reset the center after steering hard the car still drove fine it would just be at 1:00 or even 2:00 rather than at 12:00 when it came back and driving straight

Mainly true, caster is one main things but not alone.
On GT6 where caster is out of user alteration, other aspects play their role.
Even differential lock its doing it's job on centering wheel, like on RWD car if you put constant lock (let say 40/40/40) wheel will be centered really quickly.
Then again on real life tire pressure is most cases what you alter tuo get wheel center easy. Similar effect from GT6 can be done by altering height of front or rear. More centering effect on wheel when lifting rear(our lowering front) by tire pressure or longer springs on rear or shorter on front(ride height on GT6).

Anyhow many thing are counted to that wheel centering.

L1/R1 are working on some times, feels like astronomical positioning of stars are making difference when it works, G27 as my wheel.

I do have this problem on the G27, I experienced it today when I was playing GT6 the wheel didn't was on the center. When I start playing the wheel is on the center, but after I do a couple of laps the wheel is a bit on the left.

I've never had any problems with my G27, I own it since august from last year (2013), so that's weird, my wheel is practically new, well not at all beacuse I use it almost every day, but nevertheless.

Tomorrow I'll test the G27 on F1 2013 and see if there I also experience that problem, I also changed some setting in the Logitech Profiler to see if that helps.
