This is something I've been meaning to do for a while and finally got around to trying it out, the results were rather pleasing so I thought I'd share them. It's an interesting/cheap little mod for the shift lights on the G27. They are very small lights and are down low enough that you really can't ever see them. So I got a couple credit-card sized magnifiers and mounted them about 1/2" apart from each other, the results were better than expected! They're actually useful now and I can easily see them in my peripheral vision. 👍

The starlight effect on the lights was a bit of a nice surprise, I was just trying to make the lights larger and more visible but they got those "tracers" which makes them quite visible and pretty cool looking. I'm very pleased with it. I think the 2-pack of magnifiers cost about $4 at my local Walmart, the rest is just tape, cardboard, velcro and a black label I put over top and cut a window out of, so the whole thing was quick and cheap. 👍

That is a pretty nice mod 👍 I cant do it because I own a G25 ;/ Also could I just say if you would find a more "elegant" way of mounting, so it looks smarter. It will be perfect 👍 :)

I'm working on that. This was kind of a proof of concept, I just whipped something together to see if it worked as planned. Now I'm testing it during actual racing to make sure it's actually functional and doesn't get in the way during heated driving. So far so good. I don't want it to be a permanent fixture so I will stick with the velcro method, but it's the industrial strength velcro so it's not going to fall off and is pretty firmly in place.

Simple yet effective. I think they look miles better with the card over it, the 'trail' effect makes them really stand out.

YOU ARE A GENIUS . Love it. If only I still have my G27, been using iHud for iRacing now.
