G27 steering wheel doesn't work

I'm not sure where to post this exactly, but i just plugged in my brand new g27....

everything works fine, pedals, shifter, but the wheel does not work when i turn it. The LED lights on the wheel light up when i rev it.... just nothing happens when i actually steer it. Is there something special that i need to do?
 
Apologies in advance for the dumb question, but I think mine acts that way when it is only getting USB power and not power from the wall adapter.

Maybe check the power cord and/or receptacle?

well i took the wheel off my desk and then i flipped it upside down to take out the power connector and plug it back in, the wheel spun all the way left by itself, so i assumed it worked. I go into a drift race arcade mode and nothing. LED on the wheel works, paddle shifters work, pedals work, H shifter works and the D pad, steering does not.

I'm starting to miss my 300 bucks right now LOL

Make sure its plugged into the left most USB port. The wheel should be connected BEFORE you power on your PS3.

Thanks bro, that left port made it work, now what about reverse? how do i put this guy in reverse when i spin out? it only does gear six, and traingle doesnt respond as reverse.
 
Push down on the (h-shifter) stick and then put it in 6th gear. That works as reverse for me, just as in my car actually.
