G29 failing to calibrate :( ... diagnosed

Over the past week, my Logitech G29 steering wheel developed the button pressing issue that progressively worsened, occurring on nearly every turn of the wheel. I disassembled the wheel, disconnected the cable from both the wheel and the main PCB board, then reconnected it, ensuring no cable twisting and leaving as much slack as possible. After reassembling, I played for about two hours last night without any issues.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for the helpful advice. If the problem returns, I now know the next steps to take.
