I have a g29 arriving in the next day or so, and I know many drivers use the G29. I havent used a wheel with or without ffb before so I am looking for suggestions on the settings initially. I know Everyone has there own preference but I'm looking for a starting point as I am clueless about the FFB settings.

I went 1 with the Ffb strength and max on the two sensitivity settings 7/10?

In menu would be
Max
Min
Max

Sensitivity on 10 (to feel what little road feel GTS gives you)
FFB Strength usually at 8 because I want it to be harder to turn the wheel in cars that too much wheel lock easily causes oversteer.

I do not recall exactly.. but to me what I like about the wheel is the force feedback it gives. which should be high IMO.

I have it set at 8 for FFB.. dont recall the sensitivity settings.

one thing I will caution about using high FFB; I've gone through 2 G27s and I had to exchange 2 G29s; so it does take a toll if you using high all the time.

With me, I don't care as I have always got the extended protection which means you get a new one when it fails.

I'm so confused about which wheel to buy, and I'm not spending a fortune on one of those Fanatec wheels, I'm just trying to find the best wheel in the Logitech / Thrustmaster price range. I'm currently using the G27 & Cronusmax Plus and it does work ok, but it's almost time Santa brings me an upgrade. I've always been a fan of Logitech, but as a result I really haven't tried many Thrustmaster wheels over the years......Probably go with the G29 as well.

If you want an upgrade get the T300 with the basic two pedal set. Buy an adapter from Ricmotech to use your G27 pedals with the T300 and you're all set. The G29 isn't really an upgrade in performance over the G27. It's the same gear drive just with different buttons. If you can find just the base for the T300 and then choose a wheel and buy the adapter for the pedals, that could be another route to go.

My bottom line recommendation if you're looking for an upgrade over the G27 is that the G29 isn't an upgrade. You're just spending money to remove the Cronusmax from the equation.

I'm just happy I started with a DFGT so the G29 was a true upgrade. The back and forth deciding is like torture. You just don't know until you buy and live with it for months.

Not sure why so many people equate high FFB strength with realism. Real cars do not try to rip the wheel out of your hands with every bump and undulation. What you want is accuracy and feel. High FFB strength has nothing to do with it. My old 911 had no power steering and it did not feel any heavier on track than what I have mine set at right now...which is 3.

And having a wheel that can break your wrists is ridiculous without proper programming. Honestly a DFGT is powerful enough (although not compatible nowadays). It's all how the software people write the physics for each wheel. Whoever translates the information given by the game to the wheel the best.

I've heard from a couple of testers that in PCars 1 the G29 gave better detail. Although the T300 was more powerful. But power is not what is needed in a sim. I don't know how well GTS sends info to various wheels but I know my G29 feels numb in GTS compared to PCars 1 as far as details are concerned. Brake feel in GTS is terrible...fancy pedals or not. So go with the brand you trust I suppose ;)

I have the overall strength on my T300 turned way down (1 or 2 IIRC). The belt driven wheel is just quite a bit smoother than the gear driven G27 was. The T300 will rip itself out of my hands if I turn it all the way up but as long as the settings are correct, it's a very smooth experience. The G27 was never like that for me. It was always a little clunky due to the gear drive.

4/10 Force/sensitivity. Last night driving home I was thinking to myself about how much more force I have to apply to both the brake and steering inputs in GTS than my real life race car. I do drive a car known for its overboosted power steering, and very aggressive brakes requiring very little pressure to lock; but still.

When everyone says Strength they mean the Max Torque right? I'm trying to think where the third setting is. I just have Torque and Sensitivity in the controller options of advanced settings.

Ah then it is meaningless lol

I have it at 6 Torque and 8 Sensitivity right now

My interpretation meant like deadzone steering sensitivity maybe its just me but car felt tighter less wander in straights? Ill turn it down and see if there is a difference in fact
