G29 - Stutter on Throttle

I have a weird problem with the G29...

Accelerate in any car and it is like the sound of the engine cuts out... At first I thought it was a dodgy sound connection... Until...

I was using the F40 on Nordschleife, accelerating out of the last corner, going along the straight in 3rd gear and it would not accelerate any more! It was like I was down a couple of cylinders, like it had a misfire..

A little investigation and it seems to be the throttle? It keeps cutting out n in, maybe 10 times in less than 10 seconds. When it happens, if I lift off and plant the throttle again it is ok, for a minute or so.. Also when heavy braking and keeping the revs high, you can clearly hear the revs cutting out for split a second, maybe 5 times on one down shift.

Anyone have this problem or know of a solution?

Sounds like you've got a dirty accelerator pot.

It says G25/G27 but it also applies to the G29 as well.

The dielectric spray lubricant which he used is WD-40.

A dirty pot would make sense... I really need to get cracking and print some covers for my pedals, as I think it's probably dust n dirty has got inside.

Luckily I have some electrical contact cleaner, I'll give that a go tonight and report back!

Sprayed some electrical contact cleaner around the Potentiometer and it has solved the issue! It must have been quite bad and been happening for quite awhile as every car seems a lot faster now!
