Seriously, bought weight and engine stage 2 upgrades, a carbon hood, and soft sports tires and the car STILL handles like 🤬 along with the retarded AI ramming you at every chance they get and the car in first ALWAYS having some sort of super turbo boost. And I use DS3 controller.

Jesus...I was having fun with the game till this POS event. Why must PD make every GT require a wheel? What about the people who just want to play the game and achieve the cars? I hate having to CONSTANTLY retry a race just because GT basically requires a friggin' wheel to play the game properly, as well as having the SAME, STUPID, and RETARDED AI as GT4 and thensome that just ram you whenever they want.

I love GT5, but this is just ridiculous. Why not have 2 settings: one for DS3 controllers and one for the goodie-goodie wheel users who having $1000 to spend on a racing seat and wheel setup? So that way, us DS3 people can still play the game without requiring a wheel to finish the Vettel challenge or just complete a stupid event that is just near impossible. Or at least cut back on the AI.

That's weird. I did it with a fully tuned version and the DS3 and it wasn't even close. Doesn't really help you but I had zero problem with that race and a DS3

I had no problem at all with the Gallardo event, I'm also using a DS3 and won easily using a standard car with a semi-racing exhaust.

This event was also giving me a bit of trouble in the beginning until I found out that they were using sport soft tires. After I changed to them, it was much easier and I got it the first try with my stock gallardo.

I bought a stock Gallardo and it won me the the Lamborghini event, I then tried it in the Gallardo Trophy and I came about 5th on my first try. Afterwards I bought the 450 credit racing filter and won the event on my next try.

I was using the DS3, and automatic transmission. I can't remember what driving aids are locked on or off in that event but I usually have only the Skid Recovery Force on, and ABS set to 1, everything else is off.

Weight reduction stage one, racing air intake, sport exhaust and oil change here, and a DS3 as well. And the upgrades on the car were overkill already, I guess, even B-Spec Bob won by a huge margin.

Uh, yeah, forgot about soft sport tyres...

Calm down. The wheel gives an extra 2-3 tenths a lap over the DS3 at most. Its nothing like the GT academy demo where controllers were actually handicapped.

The Gallardo event isn't even that bad. Just get some reasonable tires if you are struggling, job done.

I only spent $150 on my logitech wheel, and use a bloody broken coffee table as a stand. If you love GT as much as you say you do, maybe spend a little extra to have alot more fun

Yup stickier tyres, and praps a couple of the cheapest mods, like basic suspension, sports exhaust, the 1k chip thing, filter, then mess with the driving aids if you are getting big under/oversteer...job done

lol this event isnt hard at all, put some sport tires, exhaust and like one other upgrade and you will do fine. My friend has the G25 with the whole race stand setup, he got it for 150$, pretty far from 1000$

Yes it can be frustrating but trust me with a little practice and patience you'll get. I only use a DS3 and it took me a bit of time.
I have learned to relax and laugh off the last second crash or bump from the ai. Walk away from it and try it the next day.

A lot of people have offered some great advice so follow that and no you don't need a wheel.👍

Good luck man.:)

I did this earlier today. Stage 2 engine, sports ECU, windscreen weight reduction, racing air filter, racing exhaust, medium racing tires. 1st place by midway through lap 1, finished about 8 seconds ahead of 2nd place.

As was said previously, get the right tires and the right gearing and you win. It worked for me right off the bat, instant gold, just be ready to fly the whole time though.

I was having trouble on this with a fully upgraded car too. Maybe upgrading fully is the problem? Anyway I beat it GT4 rally style by scraping the walls and just going flat out. I got my b-spec driver to beat it in a similar manner I just spammed him with increase pace and overtake the whole time.

Very easy for me. Just lopped everything into it, besides the fact it ran on Sports Hard tires. Fun drifter. :D

This! I played with DS since GT1 and only got my G25/broken coffee table- setup when I got prologue. It adds a whole new dimension. Wish I'd scored one years ago, now.

Hahaha that's awesome. Coffee tables are actually pretty decent sands lol

Is this another case of "send all braking power to the front wheels" like with the Top Gear Elise challenge and the Lambo Murcielago Grand Tour event?

Buy the adjustable dif! Nobody mentioned this? not the LSD but the differential that adjusts the bias towards front and rear. Set it to 65% rwd and it will get rid of that understeer.

I know this doesnt help you but I found this really easy with the DS3 with no car mods aside from racing soft tires. It wasnt even close, no ramming from AI, a very easy event.

I went overkill on this event after getting annoyed that they weren't racing stock Gallardo's. So I added racing tyres, all the aero parts, a carbon hood and a bit of power to get it up to 600hp and it's awesome to drive especially as you brake for a corner the back steps out but because the racing softs have so much grip by the time you get to the the apex you can keep driving without crashing!

My goodie-goodie DFGT cost me $99.99 Canadian, that's less than the cost of 2 DS3's. I've also seen them refurbished for $49.99, less than the cost of one DS3. I don't have $1000 to spend either, but if you're smart with your money, it can go a long way.

I used the Gallardo setup from RKM Motorsports (in the tuning section)...it transforms the car. Made the event super easy and the Gallardo is now one of my preferred cars. Try it out.

EDIT: I feel I should add on...if you really want to experience this game then you need to get a wheel. It changes everything and it makes it less frustrating and more fun.

I hate this event. I tried normally and couldn't get anywhere near the first car. Then I put most upgrades on but did nothing then didn't save and then I put a 6 speed gearbox on got into the lead spent and at the end of the 2nd lap I was quite a bit ahead on the last corner of the 4th lap I went to wide and lost 1st as they somehow gained loads of speed before thenb I couldn't get near 1st again.

yeah this is the solution to make it handle better

I did it last week, and i put mine to 50/50

This was one of the easiest races I did yet. 1st on 1st try for both lambo events with a fully tuned Gallardo. I won by something like 30 seconds!

Tune your car the rest of the way, get racing soft, by the aero kits, spend a few races adjusting the tuning settings. The Gallardo is probably my second best handling car next to my fully tuned Lotus.
