Game Ending Bug

OK, so I did a quick search but couldn't find anything on the forums about a game ending bug I've encountered. After completing the Dream Championship and earning the Grand Finale trophy the screen simply goes blank. If I press a button then the GT menu sound will pop up and the loading screen will come up. However at this point the system stalls. I can't turn off the PS3 with a controller and when I do a hard restart and try to enter GT Life the same thing happens all over again.

I have a backup of my save file but its not terribly recent. So I was just curious if anyone else had encountered this and knew a way around the problem? I figured PD would have sorted out most of these major bugs by now considering how important grinding and leveling up is.
 
Guess I'll just have to drop PD an email letting them know what happened...so frustrating. Glad I have something backed up at least.
 
It might have just froze, this has happen to me before, and if by any chance your Ethernet cable is plugged in that could freeze it as well. Did you try to complete another race to test?

The problem is I can't start another race. The game freezes all over again when I enter GT Life. I get a "congratulations" message about unlocking the Grand Finale movie and then it freezes after you click OK.
