Game locked up

Hi all!!
My beautiful girlfriend did the ironing today!
Good I know!! But in order to do this she unplugged the power to the ps3! Which at the time was about 15hours in to a 24 hour race round lemans! A pain I know but no biggy!! Well until I try to re do the race! It begins to load and the bar tracks across on the load up page! Gets right to the end and that's it! No further!!! And I have to quit game from there as nothing else works!!! Aaaaagh please help

Tried running the game first without an internet connection? Sounds odd, could possibly work, otherwise, leave it at the loadingbar for a while, see what happens.
 
Tried leaving it for an age but no luck! I've spat the game out the ps3 and reloaded but no good and I'm lost for what to do!? I'm doing a 4 hour now in hope it will bump away this glitch ????
